Just wanted to post that in Cockermouth in Cumbria an area near where Karen and Gem live (Workington) there has been severe weather conditions and they had torrential rain over the last few days, having a months rainfall in 48 hours with more to come over the weekend. The river has burst its banks and flooded the town of Cockermouth.  The emergency services have had to air rescue people from their homes and life boats are picking up stranded people and pets in their homes.

Sending wishes that all is well with them and they are not suffering as Cockermouth has.

Wow. I didn't know of this until you posted. I looked at the news from the BBC and it is devastating - 12.3 inches of rain in 24 hrs. I do hope all is well with Karen and Gem, and everyone else.

Hi Guys!

Thanks for all your messages.  We have been very lucky personally and havent lost anything. Our phone line and internet have been down but back up and running now.

Its been tragic though for so many people losing their families.  And of course for the family of the police offcer who was killed.  Ive attached some clips from you tube for those of you who havent seen whats been happening here.  Cockermouth is 7 miles from our home and the bridge that collapsed and the river flooded in Workington is where we walk Gem and drive over most days.

Best Wishes

Hi Karen Lisa Gem and Izzy ,

Thank goodness you are all safe.  I was getting quite worried when I heard about the Bridge in Workington.  I was very saddened to hear about the police officer who lost his life.  You are all in our prayers here in Essex.  Keep safe.

Hi karen and Gem,

How are you getting on?.....I know some of the bridges around your area have either collapsed or been classed as unsafe and waiting for structural surveys. I was wondering whether you are able to get Gem's food/medication/sups etc delivered ok....If there's anything I can do let me know?

Thanks Debra.

Fortunately our vet is on the same side of the river so we can get everything ok.  Im just trying to put a pic on of teh sick Gem has just thrown up in my living room.  Its awful.  Smelt like pooh.

Back to the Vet in the morning.  We rang her tonight and she has been trying to find out more to help Gem who is still losing weight (2.9kg in 3 weeks now).  We are going to try her on granules instead of pancrex tablets and increase her Hills I/d and keep her on the tins for now until we get her settled again.  We are so lucky to have such a great Vet who clearly thinks a lot of Gem as she is spending lots of time trying to find out how to help her.  She has been on here too.

Let me know what you think of the sick pic would you please?  Its not like her sick usually is :-(

Karen~

I can't see the picture either..... did you upload the picture to your photobucket account and then select the "Direct Link" . Once you copy that Direct Link.... come back to the FORUM and while in your post, select the little blue box (next to the happy face) and paste that "Direct Link" in the space provided... that should bring your picture rightup......

If, when you change enzymes and Gemma is still throwing up....Maybe it is the Hills food (it has been know to do that to "some" dogs here in the US... while other EPI dogs do great on it) that is making her sick..... ask your vet if she thinks it's worth Gemma trying some grain free food with the enzyme granules. The enzymes should not be making her sick.... but the food might...........just a thought.

Hi Karen.  Are you on anti's?  It looks like undigested food which could be SIBO.  And yes, it can stink like poo.  Refresh my memory, have you had her on anti's in the past, is she just now off, how long, etc.  Hondo is good at throwing up undigested stinky food when going into a flare of SIBO.  Course his is raw and he can't go on the laminate or tile, has to be the carpet every time.

Good luck at the vet.
