Hi Everyone
Well it's been 2 weeks since Boof commenced on Creon 10,000, and I had him weighed today and he is up to 25.1kgs (55.3 pounds) and increase of 1.4kgs (3 pounds).:D
It is great to see him with so much energy and wanting to play all the time.
Thanks again for everyone's helpful replies.
Will keep you updated. | |

Today was Boof's fortnightly weigh in day, I was so nervous before we went I almost didn't take him.
Boof's weight today is 26.1kgs (57.5lbs) an increase of 1kg (2.2lbs).
I was slightly disheartened

Hi Ange,
A huge big Congratulations to you & Boof. That is such wonderful news. Please don't be disheartened with 'just 1 kg'. One kg. is a fantastic gain in just a few weeks. You're doing an amazing job. You know, Megg took forever to gain weight (& keep it on). In fact, it took her just about the whole first year to get back to her original weight. She would gain a kilo, lose 1/2, gain another kg., then lose it. This would go on & on during her first year, but everyone kept telling me that as long as she wasn't losing, & poops were fine, then all was good. I listened, & learnt, & although at times I was disappointed, we plodded on & she now is the best weight she has ever been. Still not fantastic, as I always want her to be more (yes, I want a fatty), but she has maintained her 26 plus kgs., now for around a year & a half & I'm so happy about that. I think some dogs seems to put on weight very quickly, while others, like mine, take their time.
Boof is doing wonderfully well, & slow is good. That way, they seem to keep it on. Thankyou so much for letting us know, & we'll look forward to his next weigh-in results.

These are my babies (Boof and his sister Bella)
Now that Boof has energy again he loves to play with (and stop us from getting) his balls, and as you can see Bella would prefer a bone.
These were taken at Christmas, and is filling out slightly with his weight gain and looking more like the "Boof" he used to be.

Boof and Bella are beautiful and I love the pictures...thank you for sharing them. Gaining the weight back, can be a very slow process for some dogs. I know that a few others have told you this but then I know there are a few others who gain it back quickly. In Akira's case, it took over a year to gain back what she lost in one setback. No weight loss is a huge reason to celebrate to start with. There was a time, that I weighed Akira every week and learned to celebrate ounces. Believe it or not, the day came when I had to put her on a diet...I would have never believed that that would ever happen. Tell those sweet babies that they are beautiful and we'd love pictures any time you want to share!!!

Well it's been 2 months since I last posted Boofs progress.
His last weight was 27.3 kgs, he is now 29.5 kgs.
The last couple of weeks he has suffered some infections and his weight gain has slowed right down, hopefully he's now on the mend and will start gaining again.
