Hi Samantha,
Just saw your photo's. They are really beautiful. Kobe is a gorgeous boy & looks very well. Who is his playmate?. You may have posted about him/her before; sorry, I can't remember. They both look like they're having a fun time wrestling together. Pleased you've worked this photo thingy out. I think everyone has trouble at first, then it becomes second nature (lol). Thanks for posting them. I'm sure everyone else will love them too when they see them.

Hi Lynn, Kobe's playmate is Brandi - She is my other dog, a 7yo Staffy. Kobe is currently stable, the first time since being diagnosed with EPI which is fantastic, just need for him to put weight on now. A lot of these photos are prior to being diagnosed - Unfortunately with his dark coat you can't really see the change in weight in photos. They do love wrestling, especially when they are inside and get to put on a performance for mum and dad!

Hi Samantha, These dogs are really funny, arn't they. My two girls always wait until they have an audience to wrestle around & be silly. I love it when they play although they are not meant to inside. (Mmmmmm., little notice do they take of me). Brandi is a real cutie also. They look like great friends.
As far as Kobe's weight goes, he might just be one of those dogs that takes more time to gain. My Megg was one of them & she took just about the whole 1st. year to get back to her pre EPI weight. She didn't lose all that much, compared to a lot of other dogs, but to gain & keep it on, was a constant stress for me. I know there are many others here whose dogs have been the same. I'm sure it will begin to happen very soon for Kobe.

WOW Kobe is quite the handsome dude... and i love the cocked ear Ahh so Brandi is Kobe's buddy.... isn't it grand when they play like that ? (as long as they don't hurt each other) Please don't worry too much about the slow weight gain, as Lynn said, some dogs take a long time and others gain right away... there is almost no rhyme nor reason to it..... just as long as the stools are okay and they don't start losing weight, then Kobe is making progress.

Kobe is gorgeous... happy and looks energetic... it could be he is burning food off with play and not gaining so fast. My Razzy felt so much better when we finally got her stable she galloped about and it took a year to get the weight back, but she was doing OK after the first struggles. Now three years on she is on a diet full time. Brandi looks a cutie and its lovely to see them playing... I miss a houseful of dogs rearranging the furniture... so nice to have a pal. Val

-- Val from UK owned by Razzy. diagnosed Oct 2006. stablised with Tryplase capsules and Bakers Complete kibble. Changed to raw diet and Tryplase about Oct 2007. Now serving kibble with Tryplase in morning and raw with Lypex capsules evening and supper...she has her paws round my heart big time.

Here are some more pics.. these aren't as pleasant to look at, as they show his massive weight loss. I'm going to do a monthly photography session, which will hopefully show weight gain.. and something we can look back at when he is stable.

Thanks for sharing the photos... even the ones that are sad to look at. Looking forward to your photo journal of Kobe's progress!
"They do love wrestling, especially when they are inside and get to put on a performance for mum and dad!" When Boss and Scout are inside we limit the level of rough play, in an attempt to save the furniture and our knees, and call it "The Zoomies". If they are outside they crank it up a notch and we call that "A Smackdown" Becky

Hi Samantha,
Yes, it is hard to look at the "before" photos..A few months ago I was doing some file management and ran across one of Tara...I never took photos of her "before" because it was simply too depressing. This one was taken by a friend of ours who was here for a Corgi picnic. I just LOVE the face shot of him though!!!
Becky, In our house we too limit the play and we call it the "FRAP" (fast random acts of play) in which Zeke starts running like a mad dog, entices Tara into playing, then hides someplace she cannot reach, only to ambush her from behind. It's pretty funny, actually. I never gave a term to the outside play, but I just love the term, "Smackdown"!!!
