Hi Hayley,

Gunner looks fabulous!  As does Daisy...I must say that Zeke is a bit jealous...It's been his long standing dream of his to meet one of the Queen's Corgwyn...He really feels, as a Corgi normally does,  that he should have been born itno that crowd, but sadly he was born into a life far less royal...

Good luck tomorrow and please keep us updated on what they have to say.

Hi all thank you all for your best wishes,  just got back from the Royal Vet College but missing my right hand man, Gunner :(  Had an hour and a half consulation with a vet that has been assigned to Gunner and a trainee vet who is in her last year of training, they took so many notes and checked him over from head to toe and decided to admit him for further test's, these start today with ultra sound, he also has to have camera from top and bottom end, stool sample,  more blood work, they are going to sedate for the ultra sound and general for the camera work,  he has got to drink some special fluid to have one of the camera's done,  and be cleared out of food in addition to starving him, poor little thing is not going to know what is happening,  i have been in bits since being told they were keeping him in for tests and observation,  I had sort of prepared myself for him staying in over night, but it looks like he will be there til at least Thursday  not afraid to admit I burst into tears, he has only ever stayed with my Mum when we went away for a weekend, apart from that he is with my constantly, so i am really really worried how he is going to cope  (and me!!!)  I have to keep reminding myself that this is for the best and we have to know what is going on, but without my little buddy sitting on my feet whilst I type it is hard convincing myself at the moment,  although I know he is not well I keep thinking my god, what have I done putting him through all these tests :( the trainee vet has promised him lots of hugs and cuddles, she has a cocker at home so she fell in love with him instantly,  they have said they will give me regular updates starting early evening, so I will keep you all posted, now all i have to do is stay busy and keep telling myself he is in safe hands, Hayley & Gunner x

Morning Hayley,

tick-tock, tick-tock... it is going to be a long week  :(   Hopefully by the end of it you will have answers and maybe even sooner with the updates.  Second guessing yourself is not going to help.  If you had not gone this extra mile to help Gunner and he took a turn for the worse you would be wishing you had.  Now you know you have done everything you can.  We will be here waiting and thinking positive thoughts with you all week... cyber hug

Hi all, little update,  Gunner's vet has called, his bloods have been taken, no ultra sound as there was no slot so this is being done tomorrow, they have also now decided to do a chest xray at the sametime as it make sense whilst he is sedated,  his vet says he has settled well and is getting lots of fuss,  he has ripped up all the newspaper in his kennel, the vet asked the night duty nurse to sort his kennel out for him,  the nurse replied, no problem, he won't be in there for much longer anyway, his coming out for hugs and fuss, she too loves Cockers too  and thinks his beautiful. so at least I know his being given lots of attention bless him, they have promised more calls tomorrow to update me and have said they know how worried I am about the tests and leaving him but he is being well cared for.H x

They sound as wonderful as your regular vet!  You know, sometimes furkids can be on their best behavior for others.  I bet Gunner will have them all charmed by the end of his visit.

Hi Hayley,

Linda is right, while you worry, they'll be checking him out from nose to tail, so when he's finally returned to you, you'll know he's had a thorough once, twice and maybe even three time going over...It certainly sounds as if they are taking very good care of him! Please keep us posted and thanks so much for the update!

Hi Hayley - LOVE LOVE LOVE your pictures - Your Gunner is one beautiful poochie.   I didn't catch why he is having all the tests, but it sounds like he is in loving caring hands and is thoroughly being checked.     I look forward to hearing the update.  I had to laugh at the car pics - my husband has a 69 camaro and I still haven convinced him to let Jackie in it for a pic - but I am still working on it and one of these days I'll post one of her in the drivers seat!!!  Enjoy that ride! :-)

Hi Hayley.  Sorry you had to leave Gunner, but nice to know that he is in good hands and getting lots of loving.  Let's hope they find out what is wrong and it will be easy to control.  Hang in there, Thurs will be there before you know it.

Hayley, my husband would love to have that car.  It is beautiful.  We have a '69 Nova in our pole barn, storing it for a friend.  We drive a 51 Ford F1 (P.U. truck) and in the process of restoring a '39 Ford Coupe.  I enjoy the older ones, so does he in some ways, but he would rather have like either the camaro or similar.  I wanted the truck.  Trying to convince him to keep it as original as possible, which is hard to do, as he would trick it all out.  I'm happy w/ it almost original, different, newer motor.  I'll drive it this way and less chance of a ticket.  Good luck getting the dog in the car, i haven't had luck in years getting any of mine in :)

For years we have gone to  Pigeon Forge, TN now and then for the street rod shows and tow the street rods down there.  Love driving  thru the mountains w/ them.

HI Hayley ~

Ahhhhh... i bet you are so missing Gunner right about now...when my Izzy was in the hospital for 4 days... it was like there was a big empty space in my world..... but it is wonderful when you know folks are really looking after your baby and doing everything possible to figure out what is really going on. It sounds like Gunner is not only in good hands... but in loving hands too!

Here's hoping that the days fly by and Gunner is back home real soon!!!!!!!!!  Make sure when they report what the test reveal, that you let us know. We are all crossing our paws and fngers for you and Gunner.

Michele ~.... NICE wheels!

Hello all,  what a long couple of days.  Gunner is still at the Royal Vet College, he underwent ultrasound exams and a chest xray yesterday, both thankfully were unremarkable, so today he has had his scopes done.  He went to theatre at 2pm, he didn't get back to his kennel until 5.30, so a long long wait to hear he was ok and resting.    The scope of his stomach was fine, nothing to report, same with his colon, however his small intestine is inflammed and irregular in appearence so they have taken a biopsy.   Gunner hasn't been able to eat much at all since his been there because all the procedures needed fasting and todays he had to be cleared out completely so his burping has been minimal and his stools have been ok,  tonight they are trying him on another GI food which they think will be more suitable and the best news of all, he can come home tomo,  I am picking him up at 11am, his biopsy wont be back but they are happy for him to come home as they said it would be better for him to rest at home with lots of TLC and food!!!!!!!  I can't wait and neither can the children.  I will let you know what else the vets say when I collect him and role on 11am tomor.

Thanks again everyone for your posts and best wishes, and Jeff is loving the cars appearing along side the dogs,  Hayley & Gunner x

Hayley,

I am still learning all about the GI Tract and all of it's potential problems but I think that most of that sounds like GOOD news :)  Especially the part about him being able to come home!  Since it sounds like he was not able to eat much he probably did not have any of his painful/discomfort howling episodes while there.  While I was not wishing one of these episodes on him at all, I was thinking if he had one while there they could maybe figure out what is up with them.  This has been a tough week for you and Gunner but hopefully they will be able to give some insight and guidance and you will have peace of mind.

HI Hayley,

This is fantastic news!!! I especially like the part about him coming home tomorrow!!! :D Whatever findings they may or may not have on the biopsies, well, you can deal with that (if it does turn out to be IBD, I've dealt with it twice - and if I can do it, anyone can)....The important part is to get this boy home to his family! See, I told you they'd check him out nose to tail and I'm glad they did!

HI Hayley ~

SOOOOOOOOOoooooooo glad that you are bringing Gunner home. I bet, you, Jeff, the children AND Gunner will be most pleased when he is back in the family fold. But it sue sounds like The Royal Vets did a fabulous job of checking him over... scoped from head to toe....

So far things sound good... will be anxiosuly awaiting the results of his small inestinal biopsy...for the inflammation.... and hopefully get this little fella on the mend!

Waiting to hear from you!

P.S. and Tell Jeff, his TransAm and Michele's hubby's Camaro are well deserving of a photo op on this doggie FORUM... NICE cars!
