Hi all...Jackie has had diarrhea since last night - she pulled a 3:00 am'er. I found 3 cowpies in the yard before and just now she was barking to get out, but I thought it was because there is another dog in the yard and she wanted to play and she totally had diarrhea all over in the dining room. She has not eaten anything I know of that would have set her off :-( I don't have any Tylan on hand but I did run out and get Slippery Elm Bark because I believe I read it helps settle the tummy. They are capsules and 370mg ea - how much do I give Jackie - she is a 102 lb dog. This has not happened to her since she was first diagnosed about a yr and a half ago...it might be SIBO I did notice a white film on some of the poo...

Oh Michelle...so sorry to hear about Jackie and teh new decoration for your dining room. I know that as careful as I am with controlling what pups eat, they sometimes manage to get into things nonetheless. I hope this is only a short term 'burst' of misfortune adn that he firms up quickly. I cant help with advice...all I know about slippery elm is trying to grab hold of one to keep from falling off the Southern Alps in the rain. In that case, you need a lot of slippery elm...l.or maybe just a reasonably sized dry one.

Thanks for the chuckle Maggie-Lee! "all I know about slippery elm is trying to grab hold of one to keep from falling off the Southern Alps in the rain." Michele~ Give jackie 1 slippery elm capsule with each meal or you can mix it up insome yogurt if Jackie can handle dairy. .... and in the meantime.. call you vet and get some Tylan... if you noticed a slimy coating/film on some earlier stools.... Guess Who's Baaccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk?! She most likely has SIBO! Anyway, better to be safe than sorry and treat for SIBO...

Hi Michelle. Sorry to hear about Jackie. That's not good at all, even though your carpets needed it. It's nice to be able to do it when we feel like it, not on the spur of the moment. For SE, I use the powder and ea tsp is 1.5 gram (1500 mg) and I use, if it's bad, 2 heaping tsp at first, then go down to 1 when things settle down or w/in a couple of days. I don't think 2 capsules would hurt, but don't know how much is in them. ML, loved that! Could picture you hanging on to one.

Michele - Sorry Jackie is having diarrhea. I think you mentioned in another thread you have lots of backyard construction going on with a new pool and pavers... maybe she just got into something left out there by the workers causing this upset. Or when in the new pool maybe she drank some of the treated water? Hopefully with a little Tylan for backup it will be a short lived upset!
Olesia - You must be your usual busy, busy, busy and multi-tasking with multiple screens open again?

Oh my Dog...it really is a freaky Friday. We got burping computers, carpet giving birth to dogs, and expanding fonts.....too many unexplained phenomena. I'm going to go get my aluminum head cover to ward off the Aliens.

Jackie had a great night - started her on the Tylan yesterday and no poops in house last night so that is big. Have to run out and see what she did this am but I am hopeful she will be back on track real soon! Thanks for asking all. And Rose...Hugs back to Nacho...I'm going to check your post to see how he is doing.
