Hi all, Louie's new enzymes (from Diane) arrived and we noticed improvements in his health after 24 hours. We're thrilled, to say the least. I've always incubated his enzymes for 20+ minutes before feeding him but was wondering about preparing everything in advance. Louie is a cat, keep in mind. A cat with a serious lack of patience. The reason behind wanting to prepare everything in advance is that he'll literally "attack" you if he sees you mixing up his food. IF this is something that'd work out ok, I plan to lock him in the basement for 20 minutes to do a few days of meal prep so I don't have claws sunken into my leg! What I'd like to do is mix up his containers of food (I have small Rubbermaid containers to use for each meal.) and add/incubate his enzymes. Would putting the pre-incubated enzymes and food back into the fridge cause any harm or lack of effectiveness to the enzymes? I'd of course allow his food to warm up to room temp before feeding. If this is an ok idea - how many days worth is safe to do at a time? A few days of meals in the fridge would be very helpful. My fiance is nervous about "messing up" his feedings so if he just had to warm & feed - it'd make for a more regular feeding schedule as well. Thanks again for all of the help and support. Louie's stools have been much improved and I"m anxious to weigh him in a week or so to see how he's gaining.

Preparing a few days worth to keep in the refrigerator would be ok. And maybe even Louie wouldn't mind eating his dinner a little cooler sometimes also. That wouldn't hurt either. Some of the dogs prefer room temp, others like it warm, and then there are others who would eat it cold. My CC didn't care what temp it was as long as she could gobble it up.

Hi Melissa,
I agree with Renee and I make up three days worth and store in the fridge.

Hi Melissa,
While you can indeed make up meals ahead of time, I remember reading that an egg timer can help...Although you have a cat, I think Pavlov's dogs could help with a feline too...I'm also owned by cats and know that they can be conditiontioned...somewhat. Set the timer and the cat knows when it's done.
