I spoke a long time with a dog food expert and behavorist. I advised her to read all www.epi4dogs.com had to say about diet, so to assist me in getting all of my dogs on the right track. I had heard that Natural Balance had been bought out and negative things had changed. I also noticed with it and my non-Epi dog, Abby that her allergies were no longer controlled with Natural Balance. Bella, my EPI would have SIBO break througs often and her poops would go from great to good and back and forth all the time, with no rhyme or reason.

Linda read up on EPI and heard about my concerns. She recommened it switch (very slowly) to Fromm's Grain Free surf and turf, so I did. Amazing. Bella as actually not had a good poop since the first day I started and that was only 25% change to Fromm's. Now that she is at a 75% Fromms change, she has had nice perfect tootsie roll poops regularly. I am really excited, I  didn't realize just how much better she could be with a different food. I was really nervous about changing, however I needed to do it.

Hi Bella's Mom,

It's amazing isn't it how things improve when you find the balance?, be it food, enzymes, antibiotics etc.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it may help someone else looking for that 'right' food for their dog.

Olesia, owned by Izzy-45lb SWD, Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.3, Stable almost 7 yrs! Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

Bella looks amazing!!!!!:D

Yup, food trials are often needed with these EPI dogs... Tara is back on a food that contains rice, "Eagle Pack Holistic lamb and rice" and is doing much better than she did on the grain-free...There is no "one size fits all" with this condition...

Leslie - I would love to see the link - what a beautiful tribute to both you and your Bella.   I started a book with pics on Jackie's therapy visits - some of the book is from my perspective, some from Jackie's...I know down the road I will have it printed - but for now I continue to add every time I have a special visit (which are most of the visits!! :-)
