Well, the ears are trying. Getting closer.....there is hope. Also, a photo of Ginger in one of her favorite spots-- under the bed! She loves to sleep under the bed at night....one of these days she is going to get stuck! | |

Hi Jeanie,
Such beautiful pictues! Both dogs are really adorable. Yep, Opie's ears are getting there. So cute.
And Ginger is in Kolby's favorite spot too. He LOVED sleeping under the bed as a pup. He can only fit his head under now and it is really a sight to see--just his curled up body beside the bed--no head. If I sit on the bed to read or fold laundry, he is right under there as far as he can wedge himself. Last week, he was having a dream and forgot where he was and tried to jump up--OUCH--I had to pull his body out to safety, so he wouldn't get wedged in there or give himself a concussion.
Keep those pics coming.

Jeanie,
Opie is adorable - love his ears! Ginger under the bed is priceless - she won't be fitting under there for too much longer. She is a beautiful puppy. Love seeing pictures of them, they always make me smile.

Hi Jeanie,
What gorgeous dogs you have
And the ears, well they give Opie all the more character.
My boy Kobe has 1 wonky ear and 1 flat ear. Only one ever stood up. I tried doing the curler and tape technique but it was too late as the cartlidge had already formed, I even took him to a vet. More than anything I was worried about ear problems that he may have but apart from the general wax and spring flareups its all fine.
My sister also owns Kobe's brother, Zane and his ears are completely flat and his ears are always clean!
Santa

Brotherly love

Puppy Kobe

The first time his ear went up (And the other didn't flinch)

Kobe - GSD diagnosed with EPI in October 2009 (19 months). 2 cups of Eaglepack Holistic Duck, fed 3 times daily, 3 Creon 25,000 per meal. Daily Metagenics Intrisi B12/Folate tablet, Inner Health Plus Probiotic, L-Glutamine & FOS. Original weight 40kgs - Current weight 38kgs.

Thanks Michelle, he knows he is handsome and always poses ![]()
I should have also said that calcium tablets are meant to be good (in moderation) as are bones for helping with the ears developing.

Jeanie, How well they get on. Although hard work having two pups, I bet they are an absolute joy with their antics.
Opie sure is trying with those ears.... could still happen on its own.
Samantha, beautiful photos, Kobe's brother is a super looking guy too. I'm loving these floppy ear photos.

Hi Michele- Well, this morning when I got up his left ear was up and it stayed up all the way thru breakfast. That was a record. My husband brought him to my workplace yesterday to meet everyone. He was such a doll...very loving to everyone....he was a bit distracted from time to time as I work at a hospital and there was a lot of new stuff to see!
He really has the personality we were promised....he is very quiet , and loves to gives kisses to everyone. Our neighbor came by yesterday (he had met him before) and Opie bounded to the gate to happily greet him. My neighbor commented "big, scary dog you have there....and you sure he's a German Shepherd?". Warmed my heart! So glad to have a friendly little guy! I figure his looks and size will be enough to keep the bad guys away from the house! (when he's older, of course!).

HI Jeanie,
My dog's pictures are on my desktop computer at work and I get comments all the time about "You have two German Shepherds!! Isn't one enough to deter the bad guys???" I tell them, you haven't met the Corgi yet...The Shepherds are to hold him back!!! ![]()
I just found out today I need to go to San Diego in a few weeks for work and I'm not looking forward to leaving them...
I "think" I can get my daughter to stay here, but of course I'll worry like crazy as they are all special needs pups...
