I know I have put this here before but this situation is aweful

Anyone living in that area have my sincere sympathy and thoughts

I watch in awe again of the devastatation that the elements can perform and we have no way of stopping it

Olesia, owned by Izzy-45lb SWD, Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.3, Stable almost 7 yrs! Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

In Feb 2013, Izzy developed a very serious condition called IMHA which she (thankfully) beat and is now in remission. We also discovered that now, at 8 years old, she not only has EPI, but also Diabetes and Low Thyroid.  Izzy was able to receive excellent care because of the kindness of so many here on epi4dogs and  is currently  doing extra-ordinarily well. If anyone could spend a day with Izzy, they would never guess that she has any health problems!

Hi all, pretty sure we don't have any members in Queensland which is good. I've been reading a bit about the Queensland floods as apart from anything my sister works in Brisbane, the capital of the State, some suburbs of which are now underwater. She commutes (or rather did, many businesses are shutting down in the CBD). Apart from the dreadful loss of life and property the QLD RSPCA is really feeling the pinch with three of its shelters underwater and of course the many pets that are now in trouble. For anyone with a bit of spare cash there's a website been set-up to accept donations (the RSPCA doesn't receive Government funding). Australia can afford to take care of its citizens and property but there's no government provision for our furry pals. $25 can buy a pet food pack for stranded domestic pets but any help you can afford would be warmly welcomed...www.donate.rspcaqld.org.au/flood . US or Canadian residents can call tollfree on 1866 539 6589

There's a story here with the terrific picture used in the banner above in full

Thank you all for your donations in advance. I might shoot the web developer an email to see if they can amend the form but in the interim Olesia's method will work wonderfully!

Yes Jean, they're doing well it seems with evacuations policies etc saving lives. These are seasonal floods in that they happen 2-3 times a century, the last being 1974 and related to La Niña weather patterns. Maybe next time they'll factor in a plan for our animals like the US did after Katrina...

Thanks again all, our Northern neighbours salute you!

Some good news! While the RSPCA shelter at Fairfield went under many many folk came to lend a hand..."Water engulfed almost five hectares of the RSPCA shelter site in Fairfield, with hundreds of people arriving to take away 500 animals, including a sheep, ducks, peacocks, dogs and cats." [SMH]

Three cheers for all those good animal-maritans out there!
