Hi all, I've been offline for a couple of weeks because hubby Doug is in hospital. He is newly diagnosed with congestive heart failure, viral cardiomyopathy and severe coronary artery disease. He turned 53 in hospital last week. This is new and totally shocking for us and last week a surgeon told us he would need a heart transplant. His cardiologist didn't agree and did some more tests that indicate bypass surgery might help restore some of his heart function. He is coming out of failure quite nicely and I'm coming out of shock a bit. This Forum has magic powers and I'd like to ask for prayers for healing Doug's heart. We have a consult with a surgeon down at Toronto General next week and he is considering bypass for Doug based on the tests the cardiologist has done that shows some healthy but hibernating heart muscle. If he decides to do the bypass it is likely to happen very quickly. Doug's heart is very weak...which is totally hard to believe since he was at his rather physical job just 3 days before he was hospitalized. I know this isn't doggie related...but really Dog...Doug...they're kind of the same don't you think?? Any and all thoughts and prayers are very much needed and very very much appreciated.
