Here is a link to read about Taurine.  I'm NOT suggesting anyone add this to the epi diet. It may be something to ask your vet.

This is ONLY RESEARCH BY ME!!  for myself, my vet, my heart dog and my epi dog.

NO SUPPLATATION IS RECEMONDED OR SUGGESTED OF THIS PRODUCT FOR EPI OR ANY DOGS.

Olesia, owned by Izzy-45lb SWD, Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.3, Stable almost 7 yrs! Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

Olesia:

I'll answer the question for Sharon if that's okay...from all of the research and studies I've read on Taurine use in both humans and animals (horses, pigs, sheep, dogs and cats), there don't seem to be any side effects or problems with taking another supplement or a prescribed drug.  I still am digging for more information.

I have not found any side effects. That darn blood test is holding me up. I want hans's liver reading before I start.  I only see good things here.  I still wonder if it would help dogs with vomiting bile issues.  Since Hans don't have that issue I will not be able to answer that.        I see lots of posivies. ... My vet said to start......no opinion why... she is pushing

co enzyme 10 for Heart dog..........I found Taurine co enzyme 10 AND L ysteine are all in liver so Im back to liver until I can study more.......I'm so far behind with being in bed for 2 days..........but at least the liver is a start and everyone got new Knuckle bones today......YAAAAAAA  everyone is so happy....... and FULL   LOL

Thanks Linda I'm running behind like a cows tail LOL

Sharon and Linda... please keep digging.....it might be very interesting, especially if, with agreements from vets, if we can use this to inhibit the "vomiting/bile" acid issues with some of these dogs................................
