I just received an update on Alex and his case has been appealed.   They apparently are also getting a new head of the shelter where Alex is.  Alex has a face book page   http://www.facebook.com/groups/183283791737964/#!/groups/183283791737964/  You can glean infomation from it. I think the person Susan Knarbe (sp?) is the one to contact. If possible can we "sticky" Alex so we can keep up on him for a while?

Also the petition site my have been removed. I had someone for Saving Death Row Dogs try to contact them and the link did not work anymore. To find Alex on face book you can also just type in Save Alex the dog. Let us hope that the site was inundated with emails and protests. I know he has 1800+ friends on face book.  ( If my typing is bad I have a migraine. I type backwrads.  I also talk backwards I say like "we need to buy a dog of bag food)

I just copied this from Face book response about Alex. I am not sure what some of the words mean but it shows what he went through.

"This changes much if the police are evaluating. It could be days, or years. Suggestion: If it were me, I'd email a personally written story to the incoming manager so she is prepared before active duty. I'm grateful to hear there are so few dogs in such a large building. I would write a story from all Alex's contact people and rescues identifying his sweet temperment, also 5/11 vax/s, 6/6/11 vet suggestion, CA 11th hour pull, to earaches/cargo plane, ground transport including eating that hamburger so gently, vet check, stayed for more vax's (including lepto - notorius for problems), anesthesia, neutering, leaving with unknown person to him with a prong collar, sweet/gentle all the way through collar, crate, being rolled and snap at in the park next day where he shouldn't have been, great that night in crate, next morning tanner pulled to a down (earaches and prong) with tanner/male above him. hurt and defended himself, gave up immediately when told. Olesia, owned by Izzy-45lb SWD, Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.3, Stable almost 7 yrs! Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

Poor baby.  I wish I could just bundle him up and take him home.  He needs some serious TLC after all that. :(

Proud mommy to Vito, 3(?) yr old GSD.  90lbs, goal weight 85-90lbs (ACHIEVED!).  Tested positive for EPI on March 30th, 2011.  His TLI was 1.0, Cobalamin 225, Folate 22.  Feeding 2 cups of Taste of the Wild Bison once a day with one teaspoon of Pancreatin 8x enzymes per meal.

Also proud mommy of a (non EPI) Belgian Malinois tripod named Lizzie.  That means three legs. :P  Who is completely spoiled rotten, loves kids, and will be going into therapy dog training as soon as I can afford it.
