Okay guys, Ineed your advice, FoMoCo has been doing fabulous, weighed in last week at 7.9,her ideal weight I set for her was 7.5 so she was a Chucky Monkey! However Wednesday at her noon feeding I fed her a new grain free food mixed with her normal. When I got home at 7:00 she had vomited. I feed her at 7:30 her normal turkey food with enzymes incubated for 20 minutes. She kept that down for about 40 minutes and threw it up. That has been the way things are for a couple of days. I fed her a little that day at midnight to keep her blood sugar up and she vomited that. I didn’t try her again on food until this morning and it was the same thing. Right after she ate she starting getting uncomfortable, did not appear to be cramping as she did not tremble but she was very restless until about 40 minutes later when she vomited then she settled down. She has been drinking lots of water and doing the same thing with water keeping it down then throwing it up. She must be retaining some of the water as she is not dehydrated. Her tummy did get a little light grumbling after she ate but not bad. I think I am going to try feeding her again a smaller portion and see how that goes. I thought about starting her on tylan or metro but what good would that do if she is not keeping it down. Any help will be so appreciated!

How does her tummy feel?  My non-EPI was doing something similar awhile back, and it turned out she'd gotten into the dog food and gorged herself sick.  Her tummy was firm, and after she passed a rather nasty poo she was fine.  But she kept throwing up and (if I couldn't catch her in time) eating it, then throwing up again later.

I checked her tummy Alyssa and I don't think it is too firm. I did take her out and she had a poop, very very small firm little round turds covered in this nasty stuff!

Vickey,  I can't help identify that stuff (ugh - poor thing!)  It's good that she did have a poop, although it was small.  If she hasn't kept anything down at all since Wed., I'd be concerned about a possible blockage.  It might be worth a call to the vet before the weekend and get an opinion from them.  Good luck.  Hope she feels better soon.

Mom to Pixie, 7 year old sheltie, inherited from my mother-in-law 3/11.  Dx of EPI 9/09.  TLI in 10/09 was 0.4 ug/L.  As of 12/2/11, Folate fasting levels was 13.6 ug/L, and Cobalamin fasting was 615.   Current weight 21.7 lbs (4/13), solid member of the Chunky Monkey Club!  Ideal weight around 17, I think, but she's not obese at this weight, so maybe 17 is a little low.  Feeding grain free - Natural Balance canned lamb and Nature's Variety Instinct Limited Ingredient Lamb kibble.  Giving slightly less than 1/2 tsp Pancreatin 8X per 1/2 cup of food.  Tylan currently 1x/day.  Also takes 1/2 tablet pepcid for stomach upset 2x/day.  Primal Defense probiotics 1/8 tsp, 3x/week.  Getting bi-weekly B-12 shots.  Our little pack also includes my husband, our 12 year old sheltie, Lucy, and our 9 year old sheltie, Einstein.

Hi Vickey,   I must agree with Shirl on this one.   And, since it is Friday, I would try and get into see the vet, so as to save myself an expensive emergency room bill.  I also think a blockage is likely.   Cant really think of anything else it might be.

Please let us know.

Sending prayers and light your way.

I called the Vet and he "might" be  back in this afternoon if not tomorrow. Mean time I fed her a very small portion at 11:50 mountain time and so far she has kept it down. Keep praying!

Make sure you take that picture in if not the actual substance Vickey, I agree it need a professional opinion, no idea what that might be, it looks too voluminous to be stomach lining shedding we usually see with womething like SIBO so don't know...

I know real wierd poop hun! Anyway a quick update before I leave for work, The Vet will be in today and I am curious what he will say. The good news is the small portion I fed her yesterday afternoon stayed down and I gave her 2 more small portions about 4 hours apart before we retired. She sleep well last night and woke up hungry, fed her just a little more on the morning feeding (about half what she was getting) she cleaned it up! So your prayers were answered yes! Will let you know more at lunch, thanks to all!

Hi everyone! FoMoCo is still doing wonderful, my Vet put her back on Metro, maybe just a couple of weeks, not sure but I am sure she is doing well and her appetite is back! Oh and yes my Vet thought she would be fine with a little Metro, he said she has an immune system on steroids, that is why she responds so violently to anything her system doesn't like. I have some new pic and will post soon. Thanks again everyone!
