Hi everyone, I am very pleased to announce that one of our members, Geralda Aubry, has an EPI article being published in the Feb 2012 Schutzhund USA magazine! It is a very nice article on EPI and it also showcases, not only Geralda's EPI dog, Sirius, but also showcases some of our other members, Donna and her dog Onza, Troy and his dog Jade, and Tom and his dog Yo-E. Schutzhund USA is allowing epi4dogs to upload the 3 pages in PDFs... the PDF links are in our "News" section http://www.epi4dogs.com/news.htm . Please feel free to read Geralda's wonderful article . Thank You Geralda... this is what it is all about.... spreading the word so that others may not suffer so much before being properly diagnosed!!!

-- Olesia, owned by Izzy-45lb SWD, Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.3, Stable almost 7 yrs! Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

My thanks to Olesia for all her help, and to Thomas, Donna, and Troy for sharing the stories of their EPI dogs, along with photos for the article. I hope it can help some dog owners to get the proper diagnosis earlier, so that their dogs don't have to go through the ordeals that Yo-E, Onza, and Jade did.

Geralda - Great article ! Thanks so much for taking the time to write it and to gather the info for it. We were so happy to share our experience with Onza and are very excited to see our Onza in the Schutzhund USA magazine. Oddly enough, in the pic of Onza 'working', the gal that's the helper, also had a German Shepherd Dog w/EPI and she and her husband are who introduced us to Olesia and this wonderful website when Onza was first diagnosed. Thanks again Geralda - job well done ! By the way, Onza is doing great! She weights 76 lbs !!!!!

-- Onza - 6 years old in July 2011. Beautifull, extremely intelligent and diagnosed with EPI in April 2009 with TLi 0.4 ... she lost down to 55 lbs before we found Olesia through friends in our Schutzhund Club. So thankful to her and this wonderful website that gave us hope and guidance. "Be extra kind to everyone you encounter, because everyone is fighting a battle of some kind"...
