This morning my angels were playing so sweetly I just had to get them on video and share. I've been absent - back at work after 3 yrs unemployed and on 1/23 Jackie is having ACL surgery (rescheduled due to her having an infection) - needless to say I have been busy and am very nervous about the surgery, but I am confident it is the right thing to do for her to have a full active life. I was so happy to be off today to spend the day with Jackie and Dex and just "be" with them. I hope the video puts a smile on your face like it did mine! | |

-- Mom to Pixie, 6 year old sheltie,inherited from my mother-in-law 3/11. Dx of EPI 9/09. TLI in 10/09 was 0.4 ug/L. As of 12/2/11, Folate fasting levels was 13.6 ug/L, and Cobalamin fasting was 615. Current weight 18.6 lbs (4/12), ideal weight around 17 - we're trying to keep her from gaining more! Feeding grain free - Natural Balance canned lamb and Nature's Variety Instinct Limited Ingredient Lamb kibble. Giving slightly less than 1/2 tsp Pancreatin 8X per 1/2 cup of food. Tylan currently 1x/day. Also takes 1/2 tablet pepcid for stomach upset 2x/day. Fortiflora probiotics 8/15/11, one packet daily. Getting bi-weekly B-12 shots. Our little pack also includes my husband, our 11 year old sheltie, Lucy, and our 8 year old sheltie, Einstein.

They are so sweet with one another Michele. And so quiet! Cedar is so vocal when she plays like that you'd seriously think she was throttling Griffin or Bree. | |

Mom to Cedar, diagnosed with EPI Nov 1, 2010, TLI 1.2, April 2011 B12 310 (150-700), Folate 31 (7-39); Dec 2011 B12 349 (150-700), Folate 18 (7-39); now on B12 injections weekly; 1 3/4 tsp pancreatin 8X/meal, 1 1/4 c Evo Red Meat Grain free + 1/2 c add ins (pork, salmon, sardines, haddock, egg, pumpkin are the usual), 1/3 c water, incubated x 30 minutes; 2 meals/day; current weight 69.9 lbs. Also has Pannus; treated with tacrolimus ointment 2 x daily each eye and gets 100 ug Vit E daily for immature cataracts. Also Mom to pupkids Bree and Griffin, and catkids Abby, Diamond and Max...and skinkid Ayden

Wow Michele! Jackie and Dex are soooooo quiet and soooooo gentle!

Don't kid yourself guys, they play hard - right now just trying to keep Jackie as still as possible with the leg issue. While this is not a video, this is a pic of another play session from a while back - yep...crazy like Boss and Scout - as it should be!

I'm in the same boat regarding the surgery stuff, you know it is for the best long term. But in the short term, makes you nervous as hell. -- Mahi, the Indian EPI dog, diagnosed at 10 months, now 3 years old. Was 60 lbs, went down to 46 lbs, but now with YOUR help inching towards 59 lbs. Fed 3 times a day - homecooked diet of 1 kg potatoes, 70 gms lentils, 150 gms tapioca, squash, beetroot, carrots mashed together, 2 boiled eggs and 500 ml yoghurt. Since 1st Dec '11 have begun to gradually add TOTW Pacific Stream, pre-softened in hot water with the home-cooked food. 1 Salmon Omega 3 tablet given per day. 1 tablet of Creon 10K given 20 mins before every meal. Very, very active - knock on wood, and seems to have gone from a level 10 of "hungry" to maybe an 8. On 27th July 2011, officially downgraded "hungry" level to 7.

These vids are a pleaure to start the day with. Gentle Giants just interacting with each other so calm and at ease. Two energetic giants having a happy mad moment. Thank you for those because it takes me back to the time I had the energy to have a pack and those moments bring back the joy of two or three big sheps rolling round together... or more often re-arranging the furniture. Michele - Whew! Glad to see that Jackie and Dex do actually know how to do some jawing....thought you might need to return them to the GSD factory as defective Seriously though... glad to see they are taking it down a notch while Jackie is in a holding pattern for surgery... don't need any additional damage done.... plus it shows just how well they really can do being gentle with each and hopefully that will ease your mind for post surgery recoup. Val - With Boss and Scout out house is like a circus.... complete with circus music used for one of their recalls when outside... will have to try and get that on video one day to share! Diagnosed with EPI at 14 months old September 2010 tli<1.00 folate 8.3 cobalimin 611 taking 2 Oxytet antibiotics 3 times a day and eating Nutrix grain free duck and potato kibble and starting to put weight on currently 33 kilos as of 20th June 2011 we also use Tylan if we dont have the time to use the oxytet as it has to be on an empty tum, enzymes at the moment Pancrex granules 3 teaspoons per meal she is 2 yrs old as of 21st July 2011 "UNCONDITIONAL LOVE WAS INVENTED BY DOGS"

Oh Michele, They love Yesterday Eva forgot Dex's name and had her and Mia's Build a Bear GSD's and was playing with them with Joe. She said daddy, this one is Jackie and this one is- what his name again? Joe knew (I guess cause we always talk about them) and said that one is Dex. You might remember the stuffed dogs were previously named Angel and Kolby. Glad that work is going well, so sorry to hear about Jackie's ACL. I never knew she had a problem, she never told me! | |

-- Kain, 4 yr. old GSD, Mom, Nicole, Dad, Joe, Sister Angel, 7 year old GSD, Sister Noni, 7 year old cat, and Twin Sisters, Eva and Mia, age 4. B-12: 369, TLI: less than 1, Folate: 15.7.Started Enzymes 1/14/11, 1 tsp./c, 2 1/2 cups fed once daily and 1 cup fed once daily. Nature's Variety, TOTW, Back to Basics, California Natural, all in monthly rotation, Let enzymes set 30 min. Low weight, 48 lbs, down from high of ONLY 66. Bi-Weekly B-12 shot of 1.4ml. All time high weight EVER on 12/11/11 at 71 lbs., one of the happiest days of my life, honestly, it is up there with some memorable days! *NEW WEIGHT of 76 lbs.!*

Michele, this is such a lovely video. Both Jackie & Dex play so well together. You are very lucky that they are so gentle inside. Becky, your two are absolutely gorgeous as well. A very nice way to start this wet, miserable Saturday morning here in Melbourne.

Lisa - sorry to hear you are going through ACL issues also. At initial testing - TLI 1.2 (range 5-35) B12 254 (range 249-733) folate 20.2 (range 6.5-11.5) Natures Domain, Pancreatin 8x dosing is 1tsp per cup, Trinfac-B Intrinsic Factor daily, probiotics with each meal and glucosamine chondroitin in the am. Stable and happy 95 lbs 8/15/11
