we got home from work yesterday to find she had somehow got a tub of cheese biscuits and ate the lot

she was having a mild panic by the door before we went to bed so out she went

this morning we get up

geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

it was everywhere up the walls on the carpet up the stairs,in her ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and everywhere else

talk about the s..t hitting the fan

it was the only thing it hadnt hit

so out comes the trusty cleaner and the white vinegar again and down go the antibiotics big time

,this time only the oxytet will do and it was three which is ok so long as it is only once or twice

ordinarily its two three times a day

anyway its done the trick she is fine

but it proves to me yet again that grain is not for us and how devious she can be

The box was well out of reach

one tired Jean and a knackered Kara

As for Derek he is my hero he cleaned it all up whilst I took her out

team spirit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a truly horrible mess, but glad she is recovering.  Time for a glass of wine and to put your feet up!  Certainly was the grain, but how is she otherwise with dairy as it could also have been the addition of there being cheese in the biscuits!

I love our big dogs, but hated the day they got large enough to counter surf.  Taiko got into an avocado when she had just gotten big enough (I had put it all the way to the back of the counter out of her reach, so I thought) and I spoke with pet poison control who had us induce vomiting...was NOT a pretty sight.....but at least we were able to confine it to one area.

Terry

Mom of two EPI Shiloh Shepherds:  Pharaoh born Nov. 2007 (dx December 2009) and his older half sister,Taiko born Sept. 2006 (dx June 2010).  Pharaoh was 62.4 lbs. when diagnosed in 12/2009 and 10/31/11 his weight was 76.6 and 82.5 lbs on 1/28/12.  Received six weeks of B12 shots Jan-Feb 2010 but his B12 on 8/10/2010 was only 232.

Taiko's weight was 70.7 lbs. in June 2010 (time of diagnosis) and on 10/31/11 was 80.4 and on 1/28/12 was 84 (2 lbs. over vet's max weight for her).  B12 was 211 in June 2010 and 293 on 8/10/10 (after getting weekly shots).  Both pups receive B12 shots weekly at home.

Both are fed twice a day Costco grain free brand: 2 cups kibble in the morning with 4 crushed tblets and 2 1/2 cups evening with 4 1/2 crushed tablets; plus each meal also get cooked ground turkey (app 1/4 lb. each meal) or half a can of dog food.

Uggggh... thank goodness for white vinegar and a steam cleaner.

Big dogs make BIG poop mess.

Razzy wasn't a counter surfer the only time she did she stole Benji spaniels dinner... and DELIGHT... it turned out to be the only kibble she could tolerate.

Oh wow, I am sorry to hear that you needed to go through all this, her being sick and the mess.  You are in fact fortunate that you had a good cleaner on hand.  Once in a blue moon Joe will clean up.  Usually only dogs though, Cats are strictly my problem and if the girls vomit he waits for Angel and Kain to lick it up, then yells, "No Kain, not you, just Angel, let Angel lick it up."  HE'S ALL MINE LADIES, HE'S ALL MINE. HE'S A GEM ALRIGHT!

Oooh I LIKE that but since most of the floors are (were with Razzy ) tiles, now they are mats to stop Cassie slipping... one of those would be great for the mats.

At present I have a vax vac cum carpet washer to lift the dirt and a high power steamer to kill the dust mites that used to bother Razzy. That one of yours would do both.... must think about it with lots of mats to wash, they get really dirty when Cass brings in half a tree to chew up.

I MAY even get Rob to use it you never know!

At the moment he bolts at the sight of a vacuum cleaner and Cass has to be shut out because she attacks the electric cable.

Ain't life fun?

OMG! I am so excited cause I am a clean freak and someone else has a VAX!  But of course you do cause VAX to you in your location is like Dyson to the U.S.  Joe bought me a VAX cause thay actually have more suction than a Dyson, but that was a few years ago, and most stores do not even sell them here anymore. LOVE LOVE LOVE VAX!  We could be the new spokespeople!  I love to see all the fur it sucks up, beautiful!

Olesia, owned by Izzy-45lb SWD, Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.3, Stable almost 7 yrs! Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

I was gurgling too....but tried not to say so.

It took me back to Razzy having a 'blow out' and she got all in a  panic... ran around the kitchen and sprayed it everywhere... including all over me as I tried to catch her.

I stood there with smelly vapour rising from me and Rob just rolled with laughter.

Even Razzy wouldn't come near me she just sniffed me and ran into another room.... that's friendship for you.

We were lucky it was on a tiled floor so it was easy for ME to clean it up after a shower and change and putting all my clothes into the washer.... with disinfectant... and that was BEFORE I threw them away.

Like I said... ain't life fun sometimes.
