Kolby is three today.   He has had EPI for more than two of those years.   His birthday is a true celebration because, like most of you, we did not think we were going to have him for very long.   My husband and I made a pact when he was diagnosed that we would enjoy him every moment and be grateful for every day he was with us.

Because of the wonderful people on this site and your willingness to share your expriences, suggestions, humor, and wisdom......and of course, because Olesia created the site and the opportunity for all of us to get the help and support we needed to help our pups......and because I have a hunch that Kolby may have heard us making our pact and decided that it sounded like a really good deal....especially if enjoying him meant a never-ending supply of balls would be forth coming......because of all of this, we are filled to overflowing with gratitude and are still enjoying our boy every moment.

The poet Hafiz put it this way:  "Everything is clapping today...."

Especially us.

Happy Birthday, Kolby!

Thank you for the greetings.   I wanted to post some of his "true to form" silly pictures from today, but I couldn't figure out how to post more than one at a time.   Challenged!

Thank you all so much for your Birthday wishes! I know that Birthdays for our EPI dogs have special significance and are emotional for all of us since every day really does feel like a bonus....

Lynn, thank you for the beautiful card.   You really have a gift.  I can hardly get the pictures posted and you create that lovely collage.  Thank you.

Jean, I definitely needed someone to help me with how I originally intended to answer yours and Mia's question.  The pictures were supposed to appear in a progression....Kolby with the bag....Kolby looking in the bag.....Kolby tearing the bag open.....Kolby finding the balls......Obviously, that didn't happen because I couldn't figure out how to put more than one picture with my post.  ( All of my grandchildren could have told me what to do, but none of them were around.)

And that room was an ugly  outside back porch when we moved here, so hubby and I took out the sliding doors that opened into the living room and we hung ALL of those windows and doors (amazing that we are still married).   But it has turned out to be our favorite room in the house.....and Kolby's, since we can throw the balls the entire length and he almost feels like he is outside.  You can bring Kara ANYTIME and they can have races.

Thank you all for sharing Kolby's birthday with us.  You are the Best!!!
