Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

Thanks so much everyone for the hugs and good thoughts! I guess my Rose isn't the only little Diva and Princess in the pack. I really cannot believe the things these critters pull! I'd never believe it if I didn't have one that did stuff like this. Although it's frustrating at times, I can't help but laugh as well at the stuff she does. Well, I did finally get almost a full night's sleep last night...on the living room floor pallet while Rose slept on my side of the bed. Yes! I slept on the floor and she slept in the bed. After listening to her whine for 2 nights to sleep with us on the bed, my husband caved in to her demands. I was not going to let her sleep in the bed until after she started rehab and had the strength to use the ramp. But NOOOOO! He just couldn't handle it. So, we put the leash on her and he put it around his wrist to make sure she couldn't get off the bed and made her stay up by our pillows (where she was laying width-wise. I couldn't sleep thinking that I would roll over on her, so I left to give her more room. She immediately went to my side of the bed and crashed. I don't think she moved a muscle the entire night. I'm just worried about her getting tangled in the leash if my husband rolls over or him actually rolling over on top of her legs. I also don't want her to fall on her leg if she looses her balance trying to walk around on the bed. She didn't move much last night, but she's started to try to walk around the apartment more. She did her first full bowing stretch today since the surgery too. Looks like she's starting to loosen up the leg some now that the swelling is gone. I did finally get her to eat last night and this morning without shoving it in her face. She actually licked the plate clean! The water is still a huge issue. Won't touch water in a bowl and i am still syringing it in her mouth. I tried flavoring it slightly and it still didn't work. She also will not go potty for me. So, I guess my husband will be the one to take care of that business for a while. Wet burbs have stopped since we took her off the Metacam. I'm about to call the vet to see if we can start backing her off the pain meds. I don't want to just go cold turkey. Hopefully, I can make an appointment to have the stictches removed next Wednesday. Then the fun will really begin! Haha!

Hi Michele! Rosina is 95% back to her old self. She's pretty much off the pain meds. I gave her a half pill this evening because she had the stitiches removed today and went through some PT. We did our first 5 minute walk this afternoon. It was 91 today so even 5 minutes out in the sun was exhausting. She wanted to go farther than 2.5 minutes out. I ended up having to carry her back about 4 minutes. Her incision has healed nicely. I'm still going to leave the cone on for a couple days since there is a little pink spot where the stitch was taken out. She FINALLY drank water from her water bowl on Sunday, the same day she started putting her entire foot flat on the floor and using the leg to walk. She's trying to jump now which of course is a no-no. In a couple days I may put the ramp up and see if she can use it.Therapist says that she's progressing really well and shouldn't have a problem getting full use back in the knee. I'm better. Totally ready for the weekend. I am back in my own bed now. Still getting crowded out and pushed to the edge of the bed but that's nothing new! How has Jackie's recovery been going? How long are the walks now? Are you doing water therapy with her? I saw a dog in the tank today and it looked so neat!
