Here is a question for the old timers of the site:  How  long can you freeze, for future use, a meal that has been treated with enymes and pre-digested for 20 minutes, then frozen???????  Will 3 weeks of meals last a month in the freezer????

Interesting question, although I am not an old timer!  I have never done this before and I searched on here to see if anything came up, but I was not able to find anything. I never tried to freeeze cause just refrigerating and reheating the bottom of the bowl in warm water somehow was not tempting enough for kain to eat and then he got SIBO.  I am curious how long it can stay though.

Olesia, owned by Izzy-45lb SWD, Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.3, Stable almost 7 yrs! Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

In Feb 2013, Izzy developed a very serious condition called IMHA which she (thankfully) beat and is now in remission. We also discovered that now, at 8 years old, she not only has EPI, but also Diabetes and Low Thyroid.  Izzy was able to receive excellent care because of the kindness of so many here on epi4dogs and  is currently  doing extra-ordinarily well. If anyone could spend a day with Izzy, they would never guess that she has any health problems!

O,

You are younger than me, so you don't get counted as Old!  Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try.  We are kind of figuring that the New England trip will not include Ayasha, So she may have to stay with my youngest son and to make it as SIMPLE as possible all he would have to do is take a package out a few hours before her meal.

Becky,

LMAO, Terry LHAO.  She is such a baby when camping season comes.  Two weeks ago I brought the popup home from storage to sell it.  We ordered a new travel trailer and it was coming in.  Well, we had a couple come out to check out the popup, liked it, bought it, hooked it up to their car and drove away with it.  She sat in the front window watching the trailer leave with out us and her.  She cried as it went down the street.

She has been in the new trailer, but she doesn't understand that this is the replacement.  She needs to wait a couple of weeks before we do a shakedown trip with the trailer.  Normally she camps with us.  On the fall trip to the New England states, she won't be able to go into almost anywhere we go into in Washington DC, like the Vietnam memorial, so in order for us to have an enjoyable trip, she can't go.   She is not a service dog so she would be baned and I can't leave her in the truck or the trailer unattended.  Best solution, not take her.

In order to bribe my son to care for her while we are gone, I need to make it as inconvenient for him as possible, I need to make the meals as easy as possible.

Uh-oh Frank...... you might be in for a "back-lash" from Ayasha if you don't take her!

We had a dog, Sandy, years ago... that we would take with us on the boat. Well... the tell-tale clue was when i took out the green cooler... she just knewwhever she saw that cooler that we were packing for a boat trip and she would get all excited. Once (and we never did it again!!!) we were getting ready to go on the boat, but it was 4th of July weekend, so we diecided not to take her because of the loud noise from the firecrackers....

Unfortunately, Sandy saw us take out the green cooler..............................when we got home, this dog REFUSED to look at us for two days.... it was unbelievable. She wouldn't come out, wouldn't eat, nothing!!!....I swear she was actually punishing us for not taking her...... so............ brace yourself :D................

(...and the conclusion to this story is that we never left Sandy home again......)

Dar, I think they like it because everything smells new to them.

O:  Great story, we're still chuckling.  That may happen, but Terry deserves this special trip after all I put her through all these years with my health issues.

Becky:  A 29' trailer is a little too big to hide from Miss Nosey.  At night she is in between all the outside doors and the bedroom, so in order to sneek out we need to cross over Miss Nosey.  Besides, she will probably go with us on all the other camping trips.
