Hi!!! Olessia, forgive me please for not  posting what was happening but I preferred to end the treatment cause one days he were good someothers he went steps back.

Well, he did it well with the Amoxycilyn but if he leaves it, he begins with bad poops, not at all, just hard at first ant watery at final.  He just left it for a week, so Im afraid it didnt function very well.

I was reading on facebook epi´s page, someone wrote he or she was giving probiotics. I was wondering if I can give him probiotics and then try again with metro. What do you think ???

Another question, he can be dewormed like my other girl?, the normal injection or it wouldnt be necesary for him cause the metro or amoxy .

Yes, I am giving him the weekly b12 shoot, 1 ml. , and he is eating Gastrointestinal Low Fat from Science  Diet.

I tried to order the Tylan, maybe I made a mistake, but I remember it said cant be delivered to my country: mexico. :(

So that was the reason for using Amoxycilyn.

Sandra... yes.... i woulde definitely check into trying some probiotics for Titan.....

give the Amoxy or Metronidazole with a meal... then give probiotics 2 to 4 hours AWAY from the antibiotic ..... keep TItan on the antibiotics for 30 days  (twice a day) while giving the probiotics... then reduce the antibiotics to once a day for one more week.... (while still giving the probiotics)  then reduce the antibiotics to once every couple of days ... while still giving the probiotic..... then stop the antibiotics.... and still give the probiotics.....see if this keeps the SIBO away.... this kind of a regimen seems to work for some of the EPI dogs that have a tough time getting rid of SIBO.

What kind of probiotics can you get in Mexico?

Olesia, owned by Izzy-45lb SWD, Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.3, Stable almost 7 yrs! Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

In Feb 2013, Izzy developed a very serious condition called IMHA which she (thankfully) beat and is now in remission. We also discovered that now, at 8 years old, she not only has EPI, but also Diabetes and Low Thyroid.  Izzy was able to receive excellent care because of the kindness of so many here on epi4dogs and  is currently  doing extra-ordinarily well. If anyone could spend a day with Izzy, they would never guess that she has any health problems!

Hi Olessia, here are two probiotics I found in Mexico.

I like one the most, but I need your advice to know if there could be a problem for TItán with the one I like.

the first has

Fructooligosacccharides

Lactobacillus sprongenes.

vitamins A, C and D.

The other one I have doubts on it it has...

Lactobacillus acidophillus

Lactobacillus casei

Lactobacillus rhamnosus **

Bifidobacterium infantis

Sreptocuccus thermophyllus

Maltodextrin

Is there any you suggest to look for here in my country?.

Hello San -  I think since you have been struggling for awhile now to get Titan producing decent poop on a regular basis... I would try changing his food and see how he does.  The Z/D is definitely worth a try.... do you have access to any grain free/low fiber kibbles where you live there in Mexico?

Ok Becky I will try it. Right now Im asking for it.  Tomorrow Titan begins with new food.  And the other answer is no, the options from Hills and Royal Canin in other countries aren´t available here in mex. There was an option last year, Eukanuba FP ( fish / potatoe ) but with the problem the producer had it was taken off the market.

So well the available option always has been low fat, but it isn´t grain free.

Thanks Becky!!!

Wow....Hills and Royal Canin are the only 2 suppliers of dog food there? It must be sooooooooooo challenging for you (and other folk) that live in areas with limited access to a variety of medications and food for their pups.  All paws crossed the Z/D agrees with Titan!

With Diet Veterinary yes, they  are the only.  Diamond only is in normal food, not for special Diet. ProPlan , Eukanuba and Nupec , the same :( . But thanks for that paws crossed. Tomorrow we will see!!!.

Yes I know, but in Mexico there isnt any grain free food.  Low fat has the minimun fiber of all. I have studied all.

Titán has been with low fat for two years. I began mixing it with a new one ( z/d) in order to change it but it didn´t function. Now , he is whith yellow oiled watery poops. =(. today had no more z/d.  Hope he improves, cause he was having bad poops but without oil. So we get worst with this change. =(

Oh no!  San - I'm sorry to hear the Z/D is not agreeing with Titan.  Since you are so limited in kibble choices there I was really hoping it might work for him... poop :(
