Hey Jaime, yes activity will certainly influence QOP (Quality of Poop) but if the overall bigger picture isn't stacking up then we know to look elsewhere. And hey, you're doing a fab job, it'a all a balance and now you're balancing Zeus to an even greater degree. Good stuff.

Thank you all sooooo much! The rx enzyme that I was giving him was a certain dose per meal, not cups, so I think that might be my issue there. I'll try upping his dose slowly and see how that goes. Paula and Becky - That makes me feel a lot better, I definately want to order bulk, but was worried. I wasn't sure if storing it in the fridge was going to hurt it. Thank you guys again, so much!! Hi Jamie Sounds like you are doing a brilliant job. Don't worry about the ...per meal... thing it always happens. The manufacturers do tests and give 'science' results but we live with EPI and find the ratio is... X amount of enzymes to X amount of food ... otherwise a tiny dog would have the same as a huge dog and that doesn't make sense, does it? Keep up the good work. Val

Hi Jaimie,
Looks like I am coming in very late here, but can see you've already had so much wonderful advice that I wont add anymore except to welcome you to our EPI forum. Pleased you have found us. As a few have already mentioned, we love photo's here so would very much like to see some pics. of Zeus. He sounds like a lovely, very sweet boy.

Hello Jaimie - Val's correct about the "per meal" thing being seen here on the Forum all too often with newly diagnosed EPI pups... that and also the lack of treatment for low B12 and SIBO which are so common with this disease. Spreading the word about diagnosing and treating EPI is our goal here. In finding how to best help your pup Zeus maybe you will also be better able to help any EPI pup that crosses your path in the future in your new career as a vet tech

HI! Thought I would pop in and check on how things are progressing! Last I read you were planning on increasing the enzymes and wanted to know how that is going as it did look like the amount of enzymes per cups of food was low. Many vets state per meal not taking into account the huge difference in size of meals (toy poodle vs. GSD for instance!). How is his skin/coat? Love to hear an update!

-- Terry Mom of two EPI Shiloh Shepherds: Pharaoh born Nov. 2007 and dx with epi December 2009. Pharaoh weighed 62.4 lbs. (15 lb. weight loss) when diagnosed in 12/2009. Weight 10/31/11 his weight was 76.6. 85lbs on 9/22/12. Received six weeks of B12 shots Jan-Feb 2010 but his B12 on 8/10/2010 was only 232. So started weekly shots at home, which we continue to give. His older half sister is Taiko born Sept. 2006 and was dx with epi June 2010. Since she has severe bilateral hip dysplasia she had always been on the thin side. Taiko's weight was 70.7 lbs. in June 2010 (time of diagnosis; about a 10 lb. weight loss. Weight on 10/31/11 was 80.4 and on 9/22/12 was 82.4 lbs. B12 was 211 in June 2010 so started six weeks of shots and was only 293 on 8/10/10. She receive B12 shots weekly at home. Both are fed twice a day and we use either Costco grain free brand or Merrick BG brand:2 1/2 cups kibble in the morning and 4 oz cooked meat (usually steak) with 4 crushed tablets and in the evening 2 cups kibble with 4 oz cooked meat with 4 crushed tablets.
