Can you ask your vet for another course ofntibotics.

Also you must contiune with the B12 jabs it sounds like he has SIBO.

Did you increase his lypex ?

Try duck liver somebody had this problem last week  and she cooked a small amount of duck liver and this got her dog eating agin if you cant get duck liver dont know actually if we can get it easily here try some duck  liver pate and cook it slighly.

Also try a lamb kibble -Burns lamb high energy or look on the barking heads website and order there lamb.

Use anyt topper you can think of sardines or pilchards h that  is high smelling .

Please keep checking your thread.

I agree with Ann, that it sounds like SIBO and he may need another round of antibotics.   I also think you should keep up the B12.   Many people have success with Wonder Labs B12 pills or Metagenics with Intrinsic Factor to supplement between injections.

We went through this with Kolby last summer and it was very frustrating.  We continued the B12 and the tylan and it eventually worked itself out and he started to eat again.

Let us know how he is doing.

Hi... yep... i too suspect SIBO. As suggested, please contact the vet  and ask for anti's for SIBO..... explain that the reason we are suggesting this is because this is a classic sign in EPI dogs that SIBO is gong on ( the not wanting to eat and the gas )

And please continue the B12 jabs ..... low  B12 and SIBO often times play off of each other.......

✔ If a dog has low or low normal B12, in addition to doing the Cobalamin Therapy, also treat for SIBO with antibiotics. Dietary cobalamin is bound to dietery protein (animal protein) digested by pepsin and HCI in the stomach with cobalamin being released which binds to R-protein digested by pancreatic proteases in small intestine and binds to intrinsic factor absorbed through the ileum. EPI destroys the pancreatic protease and this is why only parenteral B12 by bypassing this process or B12 pills with intrinsic factor "appear" to work on EPI cases. Any imbalance in the intestinal bacterial flora is also likely to reduce the absorption of cobalamin."

Please let us know how Alfie does!

Olesia, owned by Izzy-45lb SWD, Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.3, Stable almost 7 yrs! Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.

In Feb 2013, Izzy developed a very serious condition called IMHA which she (thankfully) beat and is now in remission. We also discovered that now, at 8 years old, she not only has EPI, but also Diabetes and Low Thyroid.  Izzy was able to receive excellent care because of the kindness of so many here on epi4dogs and  is currently  doing extra-ordinarily well. If anyone could spend a day with Izzy, they would never guess that she has any health problems!

Im not sure if this would work for Alfie but we got this nutritional gel(medi-cal, a company called naturvet also carries one) from the vet originally for my kitten but Jewels loved it(full of vitamins) and when she wasnt eating or had a sore stomach from SIBO I would give her a bit of the gel and for some reason it would jump start her appetite, and she would want to eat her dinner. Even if she didnt want to eat it I would stick some on her tongue so she got the taste of it and she would eat it on her own after. Again it could have worked just for her but the gel is not expensive and its got good nutritional value.

Hi

Has Alfie reached goal weight ??

If he has then this isnt a problem and can be one of the reasons why he has stopped eating...........maddie is only on two meals a day now and has been since January but please keep your eye on this  the other thing is that you could feed 3 smaller meals .

The Lypex should be given in proportion to the food  and most of  our Dogs still receive b12 weekly  monthly  or daily .
