Hi everyone. I haven't visited the forum for ages so I thought I would just update everyone who knows my dog, Stella. I'm happy to report that she is doing really well, maintaining her weight at around 18.5kg and is happy & bouncey. She was on Tylan for a long stretch, but is off that now and the poo is looking good. I still watch every time, I think it must be second nature for those of us with EPI dogs. All I have to do now is make sure she stays away from snakes this summer! Something the forum might be interested in is that I give her an acidophillus tablet every morning and it does seem to help. Stella is one of those dogs that always has a noisey tummy and the acidophillus makes it a bit less noisey and I think a bit comfier for Stella. I'm sure that all that gugling and rumbling must result in a bit of pain at the least but dogs are just so stoic. Anyway all the best to all you good people out there, and for those of you who are just starting out on this journey, take heart, there is light at the end of the tunnel

Tylan currently 1x/day. Also takes 1/2 tablet pepcid for stomach upset 2x/day. Primal Defense probiotics 1/8 tsp, 3x/week. Getting bi-weekly B-12 shots. Hi Mary Ann... so, so nice to hear from you and it is absolutely WONDERFUL to hear that Stella is doing so well!!! And..... thank you very much for sharing the acidophillus regimen with everyone....well worth looking into!!! (in case others aren't aware... acidophillus is a probiotic BUT it is a simple strain and the one strain that seems to agree with almost all dogs.... so definitely worth trying for those dogs that appear to battle SIBO ...grumbling tummy noises, gas, etc....) Mary Ann...... if you have time.... would love to see some pics of Stella and maybe even pics with her "piggy" friends

Once stable, was able to reduce enzymes to only 1/2 tsp of Enzymes with each meal, but after almost 4 years of stabilization... had to increase the amount of enzymes to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Feed various grain-free kibble+real meat, 6x pancreatin enzymes from EnzymeDiane. I give 1 tsp of coconut oil one day and 1 tsp salmon oil next day, and also give canned sardines packed without salt or canned herring for extra omega oils.
