Hi everyone i,m back! its been a while as much has happened in our kennel! My lad Karl has been doing oh so very well once the vets had established that he has IBS, this we have controlled with Metrodiazole and some steroids, he has been doing so well, weight has gaind to around 48kgs, and a happy lad until last week!
Our week went down hill from the elenth of August, sadly we lost our beautiful girl of 14, she passed quietly in my arms, her back end finally said enough is enough, Inca we miss you!
Then on the 13th Karl jumping into the car for his play over the fields with a scream tore his achilles tendon in a big way! the vets now tell me the steroids can weakon tendons!! i wish they had told me before, as i could have made measures ie with a ramp and quieter walks! so i have a woo with a peg leg for amny months!
Now the good news i have adopted through one of the GSD rescues which i volunteer for the most beautiful rescue girl she is 10, and the most wonderful animal, full of life and play, very well behaved, so pretty, but she had EPI, her original owners no longer wanted her due to the illness, and basicly rejected her, threw her into the garden, and neglected her, she cam,e to the rescue in an awful state, severly under weight, her coat matted and filthy, bless her she was in a mess, but thanks to the efforts of GSR Elite, and her foster parent Karen, she is now the most beautiful wonderful dog, she has graced our home, her and Karl are as if they had always been together, i,m still learning how to balnce her food, and Panzym, i,m about there with it, as the poop dept is very good, any advice is most welcome, especially if you can offer a supplier of Panzym at a more sensible price, the best i have seen is 123 for 650 grms, her food is Royal Canin Gastro Intestinal GI-25, i have found a good supplier for that 109 for two 14kg bags delivered which i think is good?
I,m so happy to have my lovely girl, nobody really wanted her due to her age, a problem we have within the rescue, older dogs are difficult to place in a home plus she has the dreaded EPI, once again thanks to all that have helped in the past with Karl, one dog with IBS the other EPI! what am i like a glutton for punishment? lol, love to hear from you all many thanks Les Karl and now Amber

Hi Les
You are in the right place... hang in there.
BTW, your dogs look beautiful and like you I grew up with big dogs mainly sheps and kept a pack for most of my life. I thought I had dealt with everything then EPI hit my girl and threw me a side-swipe. These EPI carers are wonderful and got me on the right track.
My girl has gone now with cancer but I had four and half extra years with her thanks to internet help. Now I have friends all over the world and its like a gift my Razzy left me.
Can you put a few pictures of your dogs in a comment post so we can see them? We love pictures... even of dog poop if there is a problem with a dog... yep, we are a funny lot.
