About Me

I "inherited" Daisy  from my daughter in 2011. I have two other rescue girls: Jasmine, a red and white border collie mix and Freckles, a blue merle aussie mix.  We live in Mobile, Alabama. The dogs' favorite activity is to go to the beach where Jasmine spends her time running through the shallow water trying to herd small birds, Freckles spends her time alternately swimming and rolling in the sand, and Daisy brings anything and everything movable to me to throw for her. To buy dog food and pay vet bills, I teach Earth Sciences at the University of South Alabama.

Hello Daisy's Grandma! Thanks for the encouraging words. We have had a rough weekend. I have slept maybe 8 hours in three days, and this morning I was losing hope until I got on this website and read everyone's comments to me. This site is a god send!. It's a shame we aren't in the same state for a play date!

Daisy's Gramma. What I meant by Comfortis being a HW med was incorrect. it is a flea med I know. Specifically what I was getting at is spinosad( Which is the main ingredient in Comfortis) was the ingredient that caused the death of Linda Walkers dog Arika a short time ago. Comfortis, Vethical, Trifexes, Combogard a few others are made by Eli Lilly company (aka Elanco). Those are the folks that are being accused by thousands of dead dog owners of having a to toxic medication for flea control. Just check out the face book page for trifexes and read about the comfortis also. Not saying that you shouldn't use it i am saying that Spinosad has caused over 25,000 dog deaths in less than a year. I am just trying to give you a heads up that's all. Use what ever you want.................
