About Me

I'm not sure where to start.  My dog Turbo has just been diagnosed and this site has so much to offer, I'm sure I will be here a lot.

We live in Ontario, Canada.

Turbo is a sixteen month old Australian Shepherd and we also have his half sister ( she does not suffer from the same condition).

We started the enzymes tonight and are thinking positively, hoping to get our boy back up to speed and feeling better.

The following was copied and stored here for historic purposes.

Cindy & Turbo (16 month old australian shepherd) diagnosed August 15/13 at 42 pounds prescribed pancrease v powder 1 1/2 tsp. per meal, incubated 20 minutes and tylan at 1/8 tsp. 3 times daily, based on info here I reduced tylan to twice daily August 17/13 and added water to the food and enzymes. Also based on info here i have increased food to 1 1/2 times recomended quantity to 3 meals per day at 1 1/2 cups Taste of Wild kibble plus 1/2 can same brand each meal which consequently increased amount of enzyme to 3 times per day. Poops were still on the soft side, formed but hard to pick up. Increased pancrease v powder to two tsp. per meal eureka, seems to be the magic number! Received Diane's 6x in the mail Aug. 27/13, wow great price, working just fine. Aug. 31/13 eliminated lunches, feeding 2 cups kibble, 1/2 canned twice daily, 2 3/4 tsp. enzymes. His maximum weight was 56, gearing toward 55 and he is well on his way at 54 lbs. Sept. 6. Calculated amount of food he should get based on activity level (which is now active) decreasing to 1 1/2 cups kibble and 1/2 can twice daily with just a smidgen over 2 tsp. Diane's 6x enzymes starting today, Sept. 9/13.

Turbo is stable now (September 30, 2013) weighing 56 pounds, whoops reweighed tonight FIFTY-EIGHT pounds! He is fed twice daily 1.5 cups kibble (Taste of the Wild, all flavours except Wild Boar which makes his poop soft and light coloured), 1/4 can (Taste of the Wild, all flabours), salmon oil with breakfast and coconut oil with dinner. Meals are incubated with Diane's 6x and warm water for at least 20 minutes at 1.75 tsp. per meal. He no longer takes tylan. I received the B12 Trinfac from Wonderlabs today and will begin giving one capsule tomorrow with breakfast.

looking forward to being included here!

You're doing great Cindy! Turbo's going to back to a healthy weight in no time, then when there are little blips its much less worrying since he won't be wasting away in front of your eyes. So glad you found us!
