About Me

I have enjoyed canine companions for over 40 years, but never before had a GSD.  We got our GSD, Lucy, and a companion puppy, Dolly, almost 5 years ago.  They are both large dogs and have enjoyed perfect health up until recently.  We noticed in January that Lucy was losing weight, while still eating twice the amount of food Dolly eats.  By the time she was diagnosed with EPI, Lucy had dropped from 76 pounds to 56 pounds.  I found this site and the enzymesdiane site almost immediately.  The vet prescribed Pancrease V, which ended up costing $400.00 per month.  Fortunately, we found enzymediane, and now use the 8X formula, which means that we give only 1 tsp. of the 8x per 2.5 cups of food as opposed to 2 tsp. of the Pancrease V.  Essentially, we pay 12 cents per gram instead of $1.12 per gram - huge difference.  Thank you EnzymesDiane!  We also stopped giving both dogs any treats, and finally purchsed a dehydrator so we can make treats for both, 1/2 with enzymes and 1/2 without for Dolly.  In short, within 5 weeks of starting on enzymes, Lucy is up 15 pounds and back to her old self.
