Olesia, I sent a message but it did that time out thing so I'm not sure if it went through. There's a new member with a diabetic dog having problems with chronic SIBO. Jean and I posted about SIBO but don't really know how that plays in with diabetes. Here's the link to the post.

Olesia, I think Adelle is not an EPI parent. He/she just posted on the how long to gain weight post by fostermom...

Hi John.... i think it was one of the other ones..... but it doesn't lessen the danger... i have now clarified my comment on that thread.... "

i guess i better clarify....when i say "those" drugs i am refering to heartworm meds and tick and flea meds that i too used to give....and i too always gave with a meal ... BUT because of Izzy's IMHA condition this past February... i no longer can give any heartworm meds...but i still give certain tick and flea meds.... however....i have to check each individual ingredient in the tick and flea med i give and have to be especially careful that it isn't a combination with some of the heartworm meds in it.... i still do still give tick and flea because we are infested here with ticks.... and in our situation.... not only can heartworm meds and vaccinations cause IMHA in some dogs... so can ticks....:(.... so it is kind of like picking your poison..... BUT... what i have learned from this IMHA episode with Izzy is to research each individual ingredient in every product .... DO NOT just go by what your vet claims or the little product information sheet claims...you'd bre amazed at some of the negative and sometimes life threatening negative reactions that can happen with some of these products! Always do your homework.... but if you do have to give tick and flea meds or heartworm meds because the area you live in is infested..... do your research first... "

Comfortis, really. Isn't that one of the H.W meds made by Elanco that was responsible for Linda walkers dog Arika's demise?

Olesia, I hope this is the right place to ask my question. Lewis has been on Tylan since June 7. I am giving him one packet of Forti Flora a day, opposite the Tylan. Is that OK? Is there a probiotic that is better? Should I be giving it at all at this point?

Thanks, Olesia, and I apologize for calling you Izzy before!

you are welcome:) i'd love to know if it is really the chicken that causes so many problems or if it is how they are raised. i wonder if dogs with chicken issues would have the same reaction to free range or organically raised chickens?

Finally got in. I was doing something wrong. Don't know what but the wife fixed it. I have two wonderful working line GSDs. Thunder (9) Trooper (5)
My older GSD was just diagnosed with EPI Satruday and he's just had two days feeding with the PanaKare and I just gave him his first B12 shot today.
I'm a moderator on a working dog forum that has a wonderful lady who is fantastic with nutrition and health issues and probably knows more then most vets.
I'm her to learn as much as I can about EPI.
After 50+ yrs of never having less then 2-3 dogs at a time this is my first time with a dog that requires on going health care. It's about as nerve wracking as it can get for me.
As of today he is 66.6 lb. That's down from 79-80 lbs so I'm looking forward to seeing him healthy again.

Thanks for the great site.

I switched my 10 year old westie Hope to the Creon 10 capsules. Only costs $1.11 per day vs $10.00 with Partnar powdered enzyme. She has responded well on them, went from 11.2 lbs now at 16 lbs(and on a diet believe it or not). Eating kibble vet's Royal Canin Hypoallergenic with no side affects. Tried grain free but didn't work for her.

Just a quick note , i posted a new post about an enzyme Which my vet wanted me to try Aurion Digest-7.are you familiar with it? I am thinking it is not strong enough. If you are not familiar with it i will post measurements in a post. Anja is not doing well with it, I still have a little pancrease v left. back to that. Enzyme Diane is similiar to that i think. i think that is my best bet. Thanks . Wanda

Hey!! Just posted a couple of pics from "the poop file". Maybe you have some helpful insight. They're in chronological order. When it started, when she got "better", and last one is about 4-5 days old. Last 2 days has been extremely watery.
Thank you!!!

HI Olesia :)
Hope you & Izzy are doing well just wanted to pop in and say HI as I havent talked to you in awhile.
Just recently had another shiny paw order of more shampoo and conditioner as i Love the stuff.
Thought I would tell ya this was the 2nd time I have ordered from Shiny Paw and they did not send an EPI Brochure.
I am yet to get an original copy from them - thankfully my aunt works at a printing company and we have printed many copies of them and distributed to people at work, Vet offices & health food stores trying to get the word out.
Take care for now :)
Alley & Lucy
