Currently owned by 4 four legged children: * PD - Approx 17 year old blind, deaf pug - Only had one eye to begin with Adopted at the age of about 8 - My shadow - Crossed Rainbow Bridge 10.24.09 * Basia - 7 Years Old - One eyed GSD Mix - Left in Dumpster @ 6 Wks - Apopted @ 8 Mo Diagnosed 9/17/09 with EPI * Gracie - 6 Years Old - Rott Mix adopted from Hurricane Katrina 2 1/2 weeks on her own in Lower 9th Ward before being rescued in New Orleans and she had just had pups Skin and bones with heartworms when first fostering and later adopted She is the freak of the family having 2 eyes * Zoe - The Cat - BFF to Gracie - Also Dumpster Kitten She is the mother to all the dogs - Nutures and baths all of them As you see this is a home of misfits - But perfect in my eyes! Hi Shannon, I am so sorry you lost PD it's always so hard and upsetting when we lose one of our furry friends. Well Tyler is doing really good, he has recovered from his operation and is back to his old self. Also at the moment he is not having any enzymes on his food! I gradually reduced it as his poop got loose and increasing it didn't help, neither did antibiotics. It has only been 2 days, but his poop is fairly good. So he maybe one of those dogs where the enzymes helped whilst healing took place and now no longer needs them.
He is due for a check at the vets next week, so I will weigh him again. I hope Basia is still doing good, with good poops and some continuing weight gain. Warm Wishes Elly and Tyler x
Hi Shannon, I hope Basia is keeping up the good work, with firm poops and weight gain! Tyler is doing well now thanks. I took him to the vets yesterday for his stitches to come out, he was as good as gold. Also weighed him and he has put on 6lbs, so he now weighs 58lbs. It is absolutely wonderful to see him looking better and putting some weight on. He also has more energy and is back to playing as a puppy!! Only down side is he is back to chewing as a puppy .. LOL .. Ahh well door frames and furniture etc. can be replaced!!!
I think we're too late with the photos for the calender, as I saw somebody has already received theirs, so they must have gone to print. Warm Wishes Elly and Tyler x
Hi Shannon, Well Tyler has made it through the night, thank goodness, and the vet said,he is making a fairly good recovery. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts.

Hi Shannon, Tyler is in a critical condition. He had to have a life saving operation this evening and will remain critical for the next 24 hours. He had an interception of the intestine, and the vet said if he had not operated tonight he would have been dead by tomorrow as he was in such a weak state. So I'm just praying he gets through the next 24 hours ok.

Hi Shannon, I have just got back from the vets. Had take poor Tyler in and they have put a drip up on him. They are going to phone me later. to let me know how he is.
DANG! I HATED THE WAITING! Let us all know on the forum as soon as get the results!
Basia is still having awesome poops and gaining weight! YEA!!! Gained 4.6 lbs this last week - can still see her ribs but not as bad
Hi Shannon, My goodness this waiting is driving me mad. I decided to phone yesterday and was told "the results are back, but the vet hasn't looked at them yet. He was to phone me later in the day yesterday or today, no call." Anyway today poor Tyler has got a sore nasty looking eye, so I have had to make an appointment for him later today, so hope will get results then too!
