About Me

8 year old Chihuahua diagnosed in May '10 via surgery that showed there is only a fingernail size pancreas left. No one knows why or how long it has taken for it to get to this point. Never showed any symptoms of EPI, just didn't feel good and my vet started looking. Did the surgery only because the endoscopy was a failure because the pylorus was too thick...Have stabilized now and working on the fine-tuning...:) We put our weight back on after dropping to about 4.8-4.9 lbs...back up to about 6 lbs now. She lives with her non-EPI sister Jellybean and their cat Pooh....Jelly bean is also a Chihuahua, and Pooh? Well, Pooh's just a fat cat outweighing both of the Chi's...

Hi Susan!

Sorry I am just getting back to you. I just saw your post. We have been going to Dr. Maria Williams for a few months at Compassionate Care. She is holistic and they have another EPI dog they see who is also a blue heeler mix. I like Maria, she is cool and unorthadox. One of her vet techs is pretty rude and problematic but we try to take the high road. I hope I don't fall off the high road someday... Thanks for the vitamin advise! I will stick with the one Dr. Williams gives us and just get a new flavor as Hank doesn't like the smoke flavored one. What vet do you go to?

Good luck getting Butters weight down! I love chihuahuas, my Grandma always had one that kept us grand kids in line and it didn't matter were we were planning on sitting in her house or yard- the dog would magically appear and we would have to scooch over.
