Maddie Ann,

Yes, My sweet EPI girl... King Shepherd Abbey had both EPI and Addisons. It was hard in the beginning because she had EPI but would NOT eat! Much tears.. watching her starve herself and lots of $ and vet testings, we found she had Addisons. Had to go to a Vet Specialist to monitor her electrolites (sic) every 6 months.

The happy news, Abbey is now 4 years old. She is a healthy, happy, well mannered and fun dog. Abbey is the picture of health. She eats well (with enzymes) and gets treats anytime during the day without any problems. She and our other GSD adds so much joy and richness to our lives! But... I still remember that "terrible, uncertain and agonizing" time when she was a 4 month old puppy and we thought we were going to watch her die off day by day!

Hi Ann
Thanks for the advice.Jasper was on 1 tsp per meal to start.I've now got him on 1/2 tsp and upped his food. The vet hadn't mentioned anything about giving more food.Jasper still seems to be doing ok.
Thanks again. Have a good Easter

I just noticed your post on my profile about B12, so sorry did not know people could write messages there, I never check there. I can call my pharmacy tomorrow if the member is still interested.

Just saw this - don't check my home email as often as I should and didn't know we could 'chat' like this lol:) B12 has made Sofie's EPI journey so much less stressful, I swear by the stuff!

Thanks! I figured out how to post on the forum. I am amazed at the difference in cost between online and what my vet is charging. Is there a downside of ordering online?

Her poops have been - half cowpie and half good stool.

Here are her results at testing time: 9-17-2011
Cobalamin: 244 range (251-908)
Folate: 9.0 range (7.7-24.4)
TLI : 6.7 range: (5.7-45.2)
so she was on the low end of the B12.
Her B12 shot invoice reads: vitamin B injection - is that the correct one?

Saydee got her first B12 shot today ~~ question ~ with her on the B12 shots will that increase her appetite? So I know if I have to increase her food . Are there any side affects to the shots?
