Just saw this - don't check my home email as often as I should and didn't know we could 'chat' like this lol:) B12 has made Sofie's EPI journey so much less stressful, I swear by the stuff!

Thanks! I figured out how to post on the forum. I am amazed at the difference in cost between online and what my vet is charging. Is there a downside of ordering online?

Her poops have been - half cowpie and half good stool.

Here are her results at testing time: 9-17-2011
Cobalamin: 244 range (251-908)
Folate: 9.0 range (7.7-24.4)
TLI : 6.7 range: (5.7-45.2)
so she was on the low end of the B12.
Her B12 shot invoice reads: vitamin B injection - is that the correct one?

Saydee got her first B12 shot today ~~ question ~ with her on the B12 shots will that increase her appetite? So I know if I have to increase her food . Are there any side affects to the shots?

thanks for the information about the medicine - I read it. My vet never said. Thank goodness for this site and all of you who are helping.
I will start today doing it once in the morning at breakfast @ 7:00 and then again at dinner @ 7:00 p.m. and I will skip it at lunch.

she is on pancreatin enzyme, it is a white powder.
lactose base. contains not less than:
Lipase - 84,90 units
Protease - 0,061,250 units
Amylase - 1,061,250 units.
I buy it from another vet at a much lesser price than my vet charges me.

the vet never told us about the 12 hrs apart. and it does not say anything on the container. What is the reason for giving 12 hours apart?
Saydee weights 50#, when we got her @ 9 months old she was 64#. Poor thing is so skinny :(

she gets a 1/4 t on breakfast food,
1/8t on lunch and dinner food per day
that is what the vet told us to give her

we start this Friday on the shots. Our vet said a shot once a week for 4 weeks and then once a month for a couple of months. I am hoping we will see a big difference in her appetite once she gets the shots, and puts on some weight.

just curious how long do you let the powder sit on the food before feeding it to your dog? The vet wants me to mix it up and feed her right away. I am afraid of mouth sores if I do that.
