Dar. I have to apologize to you and the others. I mixed up Muggie and Atak when I first posted and you responded. Attribute it to Chemo brain. Lymphoma last year and the meds did a job on my thought processes. Getting better, but still have a few episodes where I know what I want to say but inadvertantly mix the facts. Again I apologize. I noticed it when I re read my initial post. So embarrassed. There are times I get typing and forget to check what I have said. I posted Atak's picture and then said he instead of she and my boy instead of my girl. Sometime when I see something( Like the wrong picture I posted) I relate what I say to that picture. It just gets stuck in the " What did you just write!!!" mode. I was typing so fast I forgot to re read what I said. Again sorry. Hey at least I noticed it . LOL. Thanks again for sharing..
Hi, Nicole has a just diagnosed dog, Roo, and was asking about homemade food. Her vet is recommending acupuncture. I noticed you have been doing homemade and have had success with acupuncture so I thought you might want to share your thoughts. Here's the link to her thread.

I pulled Saydee's test results from 9/17//2011 and her Cobalamin was 244 , at the long range
Saydee is on Tylan already and the powder, I will call the vet and go ahead and schedule the B12 shots like he would like us to do .
Saydee's poops are brown to light brown in color. I have also started increasing her food intake. And hopefully with all these things like you said we will see some improvement. I am so glad I found this site . It is nice to talk to people who are going thru the same things with their dogs. It's nice to see what works with others and others suggest to try.
Dar thank you so much for all the advise. I will print that up and take it to my vet.
This morning Saydee had a cowpie and right in the middle of it 2 good stools. Did your dogs ever do that?
I believe she did when tested for EPI. I will pull out her paperwork and check to see. thanks for the info.
Our vet has now said he would like her to have B12 shots since she is still not gaining any weight. Do you have to stay on B12 for ever like you do the powder?
do you use a measured amount of water to mix into the powder and food? This morning Saydee would not eat her breakfast, but she did eat it at lunch time. I am going to try 2C of food for dinner tonight so I hope she will eat it. Our other problem we have is sometimes she will not eat. Vet says that is typical of GSD. For the last 2 days her stools have been good , went 3 times yesterday, this morning it was 1/2 cowpie and 1/2 stool -
My GSD started on the pills then we had to switch to the powder. She is still not gaining any weight. Help... Saydee eats 3 times a day.
1C of dry food with 1t of powder per feeding. She is also on Tylan. Should we be feeding her more? |
