If your vet does not carry Tylan (antibiotic for SIBO) you can order it from the following:
Lambert Vet Supply http://www.lambertvetsupply.com/Tylan_Soluble_Powder_100_gm-P39033.aspx
If you are in Australia and your vet does not think Tylan is available..... please have your vet check this out (Thanks Craig!!!):
Some manufacturer details for your vet if they need it (their rep should be able to get it easily. It is prescription only in Australia). Costs $80-90 and lasts ages.
Tylan Soluble 100
Elanco Animal Health.
A division of Eli Lilly Australia Pty. Ltd.
112 Wharf Road, West Ryde, N.S.W. 2114
Telephone Toll Free 1800 226 324
If you are in India...... you have access to 2 different products of Tylosin.. BUT you will need to talk to your pharmacist or vet to re-calculate the dosage since both of these other Tylosin products ARE NOT the same potency as the USA Elanco's "Tylan Powder"... hence why you will need your vet or pharmacist to re-calculate the dosage equivalent to the USA Elanco's "Tylan Powder".

Veterinarian clinical studies recommend generic B12 serum to supplement an EPI dog with low B12 levels. When given a B12 (Cyanocobalamin) injection, the B12 goes right into the blood stream. If B12 is digested, it then needs the Intrinsic Factor to transport the B12 from the digestive system into the blood stream. Unfortunately, the EPI condition destroys the inherent intrinsic factor ... and this is why generic B12 supplements in pill/capsule form that is ingested does not work well ... hence the B12 injection recommendation.
However, what we have observed here on epi4dogs and at k9-EPI Global is that, although there is no clinically controlled research to back up our claims, many EPI pet owners have used special B12 capsules that have the Intrinsic Factor included in the contents of Methycobalamin B12 (which is more potent than Cyanocobalamin) and when their dogs with low B12 are re-tested (via Cobalamin blood test) after being on these special B12 capsules, their B12 levels were greatly improved. This Methylcobalamin B12 with the Intrinsic Factor has been available in the USA, but now, thanks to Chemeyes, LLC for accommodating epi4dogs, Chemeyes http://www.chemeyes.co.uk/now carries a Trinfac B product (capsule) that is of the same composition as the Wonderlabs Trinfac B product.

Vitamin B12 (Methycobalamin) 1000mcg
Intrinsic Factor 40mg
If you are interested in giving B12 injections at home, ask your vet to show you how to do it properly. Ask your vet if you can purchase the B12 serum from them... or....you can purchase it from your pharmacist, or on-line.
Rubramin PC® (Cyanocobalamin Injection) contains cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) in a clear, red, sterile, nonpyrogenic, aqueous solution in a potency of 1000 mcg/mL (cobalt: 40 mcg/mL) for intramuscular use. Each mL of solution also contains 10 mg benzyl alcohol as a preservative and sodium chloride for isotonicity; pH has been adjusted between 4.5 and 7.0 with sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid.
Cyanocobalamin is very hygroscopic in the anhydrous form, and sparingly soluble in water (1:80). The vitamin B12 coenzymes are very unstable in light.

B12 (Cobalamin) Serum now available in Australia (April 2013):
There is now a B12 injectable liquid available in Australia which can be purchased from various pet stores and online sources. Many vets that give your EPI dog a B12 injection will already be using this particular brand and product - It is made by Troy and its composition is Cyanocobalamin 1.0mg/mL. It is not a multi-plex B12 or other strain of the vitamin.
Some dogs may require ongoing injections (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) if they are unable to keep a high enough B12 level utilising Wonderlabs Trinfac B12 pill. Needles and syringes can be purchased directly from your vet or from a local pharmacy, as well as the needle disposal bin for a small fee of under $10.
A few online sources of Vitamin B12 are:
Be sure to discuss this avenue with your vet if this is something you would like to partake in.
Depending on where you source the needles and syringes from, you are looking at approximately $40-$50 which will include the B12 liquid, needles, syringes and the needle disposal bin. Prices are subject to change depending on where you make the purchases from and will vary from state to state.
As per Texas A&M Gastroenterology Lab posted on http://www.epi4dogs.com/b12.htm the recommended dosages of Cobalamin for EPI dogs and cats is as follows:

· Cats, dogs up to 5 kg (10 lb) 250 µg (0.25mL)
· Dogs, 5-15kg (10-30 lb) 400 µg (0.4mL)
· Dogs, 15-30 kg (30-65 lb) 800 µg (0.8mL)

For Australians ..
FOR EPI OWNERS IN AUSTRALIA
organized by our EPI FORUM member, Craig and Miss Lulupants
For all of us in the Southern Hemisphere choice, or rather the lack of it, has been a major issue both for enzymes and grain free kibble. While we can't do much about the former I'm pleased to report that even over the last 6 months the number of kibbles has grown from a choice of one, occasionally stocked by a not-too-reputable retailer, to several well-stocked reliable businesses and distributors selling online with affordable delivery pricing. Hooray!
OK so here's a state-of-play for those fellow Antipodeans on the hunt for high quality, ethically sourced grain free commercial kibbles.
Canidae (4 varieties)
Great food and SA/Vic distributors, available nationwide, good meat meal content, becoming very popular. Pure Elements - Chicken meal, Turkey meal, fresh Lamb, Lamb meal & Ocean fish meal, Canidae Pure Land - Grain Free Bison & Lamb, Canidae Pure Sky - Grain Free Duck & Turkey and Canidae Pure Sea - Grain Free Salmon
Free samples are available from retailers (or the distributor if you ask nicely) see the distributor's Sample Stockist List
Taste of The Wild (four varieties).
A high quality food from the US many EPI dogs are fed with great result.
High Prairie Canine with Roasted Bison & Roasted Venison; Pacific Stream Canine with Smoked Salmon; Sierra Mountain Canine with Roasted Lamb; Wild Wetlands Canine with Roasted Fowl. Website: www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com
One of the first on the scene this year, small sample bags available from stockists
Artemis Maximal Dog. Distributor's website: www.artemispetfood.com.au
New kid on the block, low fibre, low moisture content. Primitive Natural Grain Free
Primitive Natural. Manufacturer's website: www.earthbornholisticpetfood.com
A brand from across the pond in NZ, not a kibble as such but an 'air dried jerky' or wet canned, all varieties are free of any preservatives, fillers or grains
Daily Dog Range. Manufacturer's website: www.ziwipeak.com
K9Natural (another NZ brand with a small but growing range of freeze-dried raw dog food available to Australia) website: www.k9natural.com
Evo (one variety; once monopolised by a certain pet store chain, now available through a few ethical online retailers). Turkey And Chicken grain free.
I should add that the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS or Customs) no longer irradiate the kibble meaning it is not compromised on importation. Also nasties such as Ethoxyquin, Propyl Gallate etc are generally not used in these products but consult manufactures' websites for details. We'll update the Australian section on the food info page with all this shortly.

A private label wine "FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS" from Chateau Morrisette, Floyd, Virginia was available but currently out of stock... Orders are taken on-line and at the winery... HOWEVER.... we will continue to keep this on our website as we were one of the first in the country to private label a wine in order to support research for the benefit of dogs.
A portion of the proceeds from all sales went directly to fund Genetic EPI Research currently being conducted at Clemson University in the Genetic department.
We are very pleased to announce that Therapeutic Pet Solutions, the makers of the Shiny Paw® All-Natural Pet Care Products have agreed to partner with epi4dogs in raising money for EPI Genetic Research. 10% of all sales (excluding applicable taxes and shipping) will be sent to epi4dogs.com to support EPI Research. Please click on the picture or the link Shiny Paw® to go to Shiny Paw® and start using their all-natural therapeutic products.
We are especially honored at this partnership because after using Shiny Paw® products we were so impressed with the results that we contacted the company President and asked if they would consider working together with us.
Dr. Leigh Anne Clark on Shiny Paw® products:
"My collie, Chase, has very sensitive skin and a coat that is incredibly difficult to maintain. The Shiny Paw scented shampoo and conditioner made him feel so soft and clean ... as if he just returned from the groomers. And he was happy- -no skin irritation frequently caused by other products used in the past. I particularly enjoy the coat and skin freshener which really revitalizes his coat when i don't have enough time to give him a bath... a truly amazing line of products!"
Check it out! All products are reasonably priced, high-performance and contain only natural & organic plant extracts (the fragrance is divine!), vitamins & oils, effecting therapeutic & healing results for our fur babies. These products are environmentally safe, 100% biodegradable, soap & detergent free and never tested on laboratory animals.
For every item purchase.... 10% of all sales $$ proceeds (excluding taxes and shipping) coming through the EPI link will go towards helping find the genetic marker(s) to EPI ... hopefully someday eradicating this insidious disease from man's best friend.
