EPI Coffee Mugs and Magnets

Check it out! One of our members, Leslie, from the EPI FORUM designed a ribbon of Hope (notice the dog bone cut-out!) to help Support EPI Research.
Proceeds will go to Dr. Leigh Anne Clark at Clemson University, South Carolina, USA "Department of Genetics and Biochemistry"  to help fund Dr. Clark's work in identifying the genetic marker(s) to EPI.

There are two types of ribbons, one "Support EPI Research" and another "Got EPI ?".  Leslie will be marketing the following products such as coffee mugs (Personalized with your dog's picture or a Standard Mug),  Car and Refrigerator Magnets, etc. Leslie selected orange and brown for this ribbon of Hope. Orange because the funds will be donated to Clemson and orange is Clemson's school color. The color orange means action-oriented and competent. And she also selected the color brown, which means honest and supportive.

This is a "Personalized Support EPI Research" mug that I ordered! If you are interested in a personalized EPI mug,
please email your favorite photo to Leslie at:

Below is a photo of the EPI Car Magnet (with the pop-out  EPI bone Refrigerator Magnet) that is also available.

Partnership with ShinyPaw Natural Pet Care

We are very pleased to announce that Therapeutic Pet Solutions, the makers of the  Shiny Paw®  All-Natural Pet Care Products have agreed to partner with epi4dogs in raising money       for EPI Genetic Research. 10% of all sales (excluding applicable taxes and shipping) will be sent to epi4dogs.com to support EPI Research. Please click on the picture or the link   Shiny Paw®   to go to  Shiny Paw®  and start using their all-natural therapeutic products.

We are especially honored at this partnership because after using  Shiny Paw®   products we were so impressed with the results that we contacted the company President and asked if they would consider working together with us.

Dr. Leigh Anne Clark on   Shiny Paw®   products:

"My collie, Chase, has very sensitive skin and a coat that is incredibly difficult to maintain. The Shiny Paw scented shampoo and conditioner made him feel so soft and clean ... as if he just returned from the groomers. And he was happy- -no skin irritation frequently caused by other products used in the past. I particularly enjoy the coat and skin freshener which really revitalizes his coat when i don't have enough time to give him a bath... a truly amazing line of products!"

Check it out!  All products are reasonably priced, high-performance and contain only natural & organic plant extracts (the fragrance is divine!), vitamins & oils, effecting therapeutic & healing results for our fur babies. These products are environmentally safe, 100% biodegradable, soap & detergent free and never tested on laboratory animals.

For every item purchase.... 10% of all sales $$ proceeds (excluding taxes and shipping) coming through the EPI link will go towards helping find the genetic marker(s) to EPI ... hopefully someday eradicating this insidious disease from man's best friend.

Wine for Research

A private label wine "FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS" from Chateau Morrisette, Floyd, Virginia is now available.  Orders are taken on-line.

A portion of the proceeds will directly fund Genetic EPI Research currently being conducted at Clemson University in the Genetic department.

http://dogs4acause.org/index.php?pr=love

For the Love of Dogs is honored to be sponsored by the Chateau Morrisette Winery on behalf of medical research benefiting dogs with EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency). EPI is an insidious disease that destroys the pancreas virtually leaving the dog to die a slow, painful death from starvation and/or organ failure. There is no cure. The only treatment is supplementation with very expensive enzymes incubated on every mouthful of food ingested for the remainder of the dog’s life, along with diet modification. But sadly, even this does not always work.

We are desperately seeking to identify the genetic marker(s) of EPI to allow testing prior to breeding to eradicate this disease. The largest group of dogs affected with EPI are service dogs/working dogs, whether they assisting us in search and rescue, assisting us in therapy, or just being our faithful companion.

Recently, this disease is starting to showing up in all breeds. Please help us help them.

Chateau Morrisette will contribute a percentage of the gross adjusted sales to non-profit veterinary school canine genetics labs responsible for EPI research.

EPI Crate tages, Frames, Plaques, Urns etc.

It is a small world indeed! An EPI-friend of mine, Linda P, who does agility and travels to various shows with her EPI dog recently contacted me because she finally found a website that makes nametags for dog crates. However, what she was excited about is that they even had EPI dog crate tags!

I contacted the owner of RugPal North http://www.rugpalnorth.com/ and discovered that she too has a dog "Keeper" also afflicted with EPI and had gone through many of the same struggles as so many other EPI owners have. It took her over 10 months to get the right diagnosis, and as she said, “While I searched for answers and battled her weight loss, I followed her with a steam cleaner and bucket of Pine-Sol.” I certainly could relate to her story!

It is an honor to be able to recommend her quality 2x6 Smooth Silver/Black Crate Tag Dog Crate Tags   (Linda was so pleased with her order that she placed more orders!)

There are a variety of fonts, graphics and colors to choose from. Emergency contact information to fit your personal needs can also be included. A purchase of any of these Crate Tags or Horse Stall name plates will earn 40% of the sale towards EPI Research.

RugPal North’s also offers personalized laser engraved Picture Frames    that would make unique and memorable gifts. Forever keepsakes of those special moments of your dog (horses, cats and people themes are available too!) with any imaginable dog activity graphics available such as agility, sheep or cattle herding or just herding, flyball, dock-diving, earthdog, field trial, freestyle, lure coursing, obedience, tracking, search & rescue, etc.

Or maybe the time has come for you to say “good-bye” to your faithful companion with love, respect and appreciation. Please consider RugPal North’s personalized Memorial Plaques and Urns. A purchase of any of the Frames or Memorial items will earn 5% of the sale towards EPI Research.4x4 Engraved Granite

I hope you can take a moment to visit RugPal North http://www.rugpalnorth.com/

What one EPI dog is doing.....

It is with great sadness to that I must share with you that this wonderful EPI dog Kita, passed away November 19, 2009.  We are all devastated. Kita was full of heart and joyfulness up until the day before she died. Kita, you will forever be sweetly remembered by your fellow EPI'rs.

What one EPI dog did......This is Kita.

On behalf of Kita, her mom sold Tootsie-Rolls at her workplace to raise money for the EPI Research being conducted at Clemson University by Dr. Leigh Anne Clark. Collections are on the honor system. Every time $100 is raised it was sent to Clemson for EPI. Sadly Kita recently passed away, but her legacy and all her efforts to raise money and bring awareness to EPI will never be forgotten.
