Re: Low TLI- worried

Thanks for checking, Barb! Yes it does have the intrinsic factor, another amazing person on this forum checked that for me when we started giving it to her :).

Re: Low TLI- worried

Thank you so much Jean and Jill! Yes I wonder if he was covering his tracks by saying the lab pathologist said that some dogs don't have to be retested, so we wouldn't be upset that we got extra tests. Who knows- but I'm just glad this means she's on track and healthy!! We get Pancreatin 6X from Enz...

Re: Low TLI- worried

Oh wow. Thank you! I think my vet just didn’t know that and got her tested again... oh well. So glad that’s not bad news for her health.

Low TLI- worried

Hi there! First of all, thank you for everyone's help over the past few months. In many ways, Scottie (1.5 years old, GSD mix, diagnosed about 4 months ago) is doing much better. But one thing is worrying me -- At our 6 week check up, her TLI was still pretty low. We upped the dose to 2 tsp of Pancr...

Anal gland problem -- related to EPI treatment?

Our 1.5 year old GSD mix Scottie is doing SO much better!! She's been on Pancreatin for about a month and a half now, put on weight, eating regularly, poops are very hard. I was wondering-- can they be too hard? We're not even giving her the full recommended dose of powder yet (working up reallly sl...

Re: Ideas for enrichment toys?

Oh yes we gave her liver once before her diagnosis, and she was obsessed. Great idea- it seems like it would mask the taste of the pancreatin really well :)

Ideas for enrichment toys?

Even though my boyfriend and I are both home now and walking her even more, our 1.5 EPI girl seems antsy and bored (maybe I’m projecting...) All the toys I see online to keep them busy and interested are food motivated. We did soak some treats in enzymes but it’s really messy and the treats are real...

Re: New EPI Dog Scottie throwing up

Thank you for checking in! Feel so supported here. She threw up once more but then stopped... it worried us but since it’s sporadic and not too often (and we brought a stool sample in to make sure it’s nothing more serious), I’m feeling more calm about it. She’s eating, her poops are normal! (And we...

Re: New EPI Dog Scottie throwing up

We actually did get Tylosin but discontinued it temporarily because we and the vet initially thought that could be the culprit. But I'm guessing we'll start it back up, since she's still throwing up without it. Vet told us to give her pepcid half an hour before meals, so we started that. She hasn't ...
