Re: Poop soft again after being normal for a few years

Scottie had a recheck with the vet for her ear infection and I asked the vet about her soft stools. He recommended benefiber... I know fiber for the opposite effect, i.e. to fix constipation. Has anyone used benefiber for runny stools for your dogs? Thanks!!

Re: Poop soft again after being normal for a few years

Thank you for sending this!!! That makes sense. I know that can happen in humans too (the scorched earth effect on the stomach) so not surprised that might be whats' going on with Scottie. Will definitely keep you updated :) you're the best!

Re: Poop soft again after being normal for a few years

THANK YOU THANK YOU!! This is incredibly helpful, I'm so relieved. Her poos have always seemed a bit orange to me whenever they're anything but perfectly normal/hard. So the color isn't quite as alarming to me as the consistency. We already have her on slippery elm and probiotics daily. We're going ...

Poop soft again after being normal for a few years

My 4 year old EPI girl Scottie (GSD Mix) has had almost completely normal poos for a few years now. Over the past few days, it's been quite soft again. Not quite diarrhea but the next closest thing. Orange and very soft. All food has been kept the exact same (Hillz ZD wet food and treats, and Ultami...

Re: EPI dog coughing

Oh wow! Ok. I ended up taking her to the vet and he gave me some cough medicine which seems to be working for now. If it doesn't totally improve he said it's possible it's kennel cough, though my hunch is it's something EPI- related. Will keep you updated!

EPI dog coughing

Hi all-- Since last night (for about 16 hours now) my EPI dog Scottie has been coughing on and off. Video here: https://youtube.com/shorts/LGKEPz0u5-k?feature=share It seemed to be acid reflux, so I gave her an acid reducer, but that only seemed to help temporarily. It's off and on, but hasn't stopp...

Ideas for toys?

Hi all! I've posted here a bunch in the past, and happy to report Scottie is sitting pretty at 50 lbs (perfect for her size), eating well, and pooping normally! And the bile throw ups have gone down. So thank you thank you thank you for everything. Question-- I want to get her some more toys, but am...

Re: EPI Dog allergies getting worse?

Update- we've started to wash Scottie's paws in baking soda and water after her walks, and it's absolutely made a difference. Thank you! Have decided not to try pumpkin yet, as she's been eating really well and we're nervous to throw that off in any way. But we may try in the future, and for now we'...

Re: EPI Dog allergies getting worse?

And thank you Pam. I think we will try the pumpkin and hope she’s not allergic because it will probably be much more comfortable for her.
