Re: Enzymes from Ziska with love

I am so sorry to hear about Ziska. :(

I am about to reorder enzymes. The recent price increase hurts, but thankfully I'm okay and can cover it.

What you are offering is wonderful, and I'm so glad the EPI community is like this. I hope someone takes you up on the gracious offer.

Re: New member. 11 month old GSD with EPI

Another update. Freya is doing great. :D She's happy and healthy and I love her. Jostled the enzymes a bit and finally found balance again at 3/4 tsp per cup of food. Her poops were getting a little crumbly, so I ratcheted down over a week. Things are normal, she's got that Shepherd smile, and we're...

Re: New member. 11 month old GSD with EPI

I tried 2.5 tsp per 2 cup meal, and her poop was still puffy and a little mucousy. I suppose I could push to 3 tsp for a couple of days and see if it is a potency issue. I compared the new to the previous, and the numbers were nearly identical, though. Is Freya being treated for SID?---Pam Not direc...

Re: New member. 11 month old GSD with EPI

Freya update. B12 We had our semi-annual vet visit (she weighed in at 51.8 pounds), and I discussed with the vet my concerns about Freya's B12 and her energy levels. I'm not sure if I mentioned, but my vet has personal experience with EPI with a poodle he had years ago. It was really nice to hear th...

Re: New member. 11 month old GSD with EPI

over 80% of all EPI dogs require B12 supplementation as they have trouble maintaining their B12. Also.... low normal or normal levels of B12 is NOT sufficient for an EPI dog. Their levels needs to be at a minimum in the upper 500's to anywhere in the 600's. Once the levels are where they are suppos...

Re: New member. 11 month old GSD with EPI

Fantastic. Thank you both so much. Her semi-annual vet visit is in just under two weeks, and I'll request a B12 test. I did have it for the coming Friday, but I had to bump it another week. My first impulse is to not attempt to address what is likely a low B12 level and to wait the two weeks for an ...

Re: New member. 11 month old GSD with EPI

Pam, She's gained back to where she was before the EPI took hold. She's filled out more, but she is on the small side of average. She's coming up on 16 months old later this month, so she may still grow and fill out, though I'm guessing she probably won't if the last year together is any indicator. ...

Re: New member. 11 month old GSD with EPI

I wanted to provide an update. We transitioned to Royal Canin adult GSD food about a month ago since Freya was at the 15 month mark. Prior to that, as suggested, I was more precise with the enzyme measurements--1.5 teaspoons of Enzyme Diane enzymes per 2.5 cup meal. I had tried 2 tsp per 2.5 cups to...

Re: New member. 11 month old GSD with EPI

My puppy is an energetic puppy again! I received the Pan-tenex enzymes on December 19th and started her on them with that evening's meal. To revisit--Freya's poops have been normal since a few days on the NOW branded enzymes. That thankfully hasn't changed. I had been following all of the recommenda...
