Hi Alex, trypsin is one of the enzymes responsible for protein. Lipase is responsible for the fat digestion. If your pup has pancreatitis you most definitely need to restrict fat. Even though a pet is on porcine digestive enzymes, the lipase does not much as far as reducing pain the pancreatitis do...

I always thought that with trypsin, I didn't need to control the amount of fat, but after reading the answer above, pancreatitis needs a low-fat diet, while taking trypsin?

Hi Alex, Glad to read that he no longer limps or burps. You certainly are trying to figure out what is the root cause..... your vet might be right, it could be something with the heart, or it could be something else. If this is not caused by a heart condition, another possibility might be an allerg...
