Sad news

93AA4EE5-B8FF-4227-A48A-EC8C8925F952.jpeg Sorry to let everyone know that Bodie passed over the rainbow bridge on 15 August aged 12 years and 4 months. Not EPI related, just old age - his heart just gave out. He died peacefully and pain free in my arms. Thank you all for your help and support. The ...

Re: Help !

Thank you Olesia and Pam Over the last week I went a bit back to basics. Restricted Bodies diet to his dry & wet food with some sweet potato. Removed the chicken and rice. Doubled the Lypex per meal and continued with the Almazyme Acut as an extra and the probiotics. While things aren’t „perfect...

Re: Help !

I will try again doubling the Lypex in his main meals and combining 1 Lypex with Almazyme in his small meals.
Big challenge is that Lypex here costs $75 for 60 capsules - I’d need 1 pack every 10 days at those levels so $175 per month. His other meds already cost $600 per month …

Re: Help !

PS The Almazyme Acut is new - stools were loose before. In fact has helped a lot with his gas issues 😉

Re: Help !

Thank you for the suggestions really appreciate. He’s getting Hills Canine I/d low fat 2.1% raw fiber. He gets around 75g per meal plus 120g complementary wet food 2x per day with 1 Lypex. His other 2 meals are small, around 30g of shredded chicken or turkey (poached) with sweet potato or rice. I’ve...

Help !

Dear Epi4dogs Forum A year on from Bodie‘s diagnosis we continue to ride the roller coaster. I don’t think I’ll ever see a normal poop again. However he is still with us, weight stable and no more ravenous than most other normal Labradors I know. He’s 12 years old and developed EPI just before his 1...

Re: Lypex Dosage - Please help a confused owner!

Thanks Jean, Madelon I have upped Bodies Lypex to 2 capsules per meal (wet food / moist kibble) and there was an almost immediate improvement. I have since added as „supper“ to his daily schedule (he has bedtime meds to take) - mashed banana or sweet potato with yoghurt and a scoop of powdered enzym...

Re: Lypex Dosage - Please help a confused owner!

Jean Thank you so much. Official dosage is 2 capsules per day but as he eats 2 meals, sounds like 2 per meal would be better. I’ve tried a number of powdered enzymes which really don’t work well at all. I live in Switzerland and Lypex is the only one ive found here despite consulting with our vet an...

Lypex Dosage - Please help a confused owner!

Hi everyone Im using Lypex to manage Bodies EPI as he seems to do better with enteric coated enzymes. However the Lypex dosage instructions don’t make a lot of sense to me. It says to break open and sprinkle 1 capsule per meal irrespective of the size of the dog or the quantity of food. Can that rea...

Re: Managing EPI alongside other medications

Sorry, no SBI.
Vet thinks maybe SID, recommends pre-biotic fiber supplement (ProFiber)
Any experiences with this or alternates ?
(I live in Switzerland, US/UK brands not always accessible…)
