Re: Slipery Elm
Rosie is now on 1/8 tsp with each meal she receives (1 cup, 3-4 times per day) and doing just fine. We cut her back from a higher dose slowly and just monitored what happened. Hope you can find a lower dose that works!

Re: Update on Lucy and recommendation needed
We cut Rosie down from 4 cups (1 cup/4x day) down to 3 cups per day once she was up to her target weight. However, she slowly started losing weight again. Now we feed her 3 or 4 cups per day depending on our work schedules, and she seems to be back to maintaining her goal weight. I guess this just r...

Re: Happy Update & Two Questions
Thanks for all the input! Seems like a good idea to have the SE on hand, and if we stop using it and she remains stable, it's not a big $$ loss. Interesting that the hacking might related to SID as well, makes sense. It happens regardless of what sort of activity she's doing, both laying down or sta...

Happy Update & Two Questions
I wanted to provide an update on Rosie! She was diagnosed in August 2021, about 2 weeks after we adopted her. She'd been a stray at least 3 times and was a shell of a dog. I'm happy to say with this site and forum, she's up from 39 pounds to 52 pounds as of January 2022! Putting her on a daily low d...

Re: B12 Pills
Just seconding that we use the WonderLabs B12 pills (cheap and quick shipping in the U.S.) and mix the whole capsule in with Rosie's food right before we serve it. She doesn't have any problem gobbling down the capsule. But if your dog has an aversion to the whole pill in the food, the capsules are ...

Re: Another Newbie--Meds & Dosing
Epi4Dogs and all you wonderful forum posters deserve all the credit for her speedy diagnosis! Googling her very specific GI distress symptoms quickly led me here. Appreciate the input on the Natural Balance food--it's nice to have some reassurance that it's a good starting point!

Re: Another Newbie--Meds & Dosing
Thank you both so much! We adopted Rosie 3 weeks ago--the shelter thought she was underweight due to anxiety and abuse. Needless to say, it's been a stressful 3 weeks! I'm hoping some of her fear goes away as she starts to feel fuller and well-fed, but the abuse is still a large factor in her demean...

Another Newbie--Meds & Dosing
Hi All-- Rosie, our 2 year old rescue fox red lab, was diagnosed with EPI 3 days ago (lab results in signature box). She currently weighs 40 lbs. I ordered a sample size packet from EnzymeDiane before we received Rosie's diagnosis because I was so convinced by her symptoms. Thanks to all of the amaz...
