Re: Introduction

Thank you Pam! I will definitely keep you updated. You never know, it might also help someone else going down the same path in the future. So, as I basically understand it, the antibiotics Ziggy had as a tiny baby for a ?chest infection could have immunosuppressed him, opening the door for these top...

Re: Introduction

Well, it has been a roller coaster ride to this point but to sum it up: We had Ziggy re-tested for EPI following a 12 hour fast; plus Faecal PCR. The results are back and he does not have EPI! EPI range is 5.2 to 34 and Ziggy was >50 He could have pancreatitis but we will need to do another blood te...

EPI Dogs and Climate

Hi all, I hope you are well! Ziggy arrived safely! He has an appointment with our local vet on Saturday for introductions, diet discussion, worming, booster needle etc. While still not putting on as much weight as I would like, he is 'doing okay' on: 1 x Creon 10,000 5 mins before meals. 1/2 Cup of ...

Re: Introduction

Great News! The kibble is working! Ziggy is now gaining weight at a nice rate; he has a belly for the first time! His coat has improved and looks much more conditioned and his bone structure is not so 'fine'. We are definitely in the countdown phase now with an arrival time of approximately 5:30 pm ...

Re: EPI Alert Tag/Collar

Thank you all for the input! :)

I had already ordered Ziggy's tag before reading that EPI had some available.

I went with his name and my phone number on one side and on the other:
DO NOT FEED
Has EPI
Please take to a vet

Re: New diagnosis and some questions!

Hi Kevin I too am a newbie to EPI and my recently diagnosed 13 week old puppy has not even arrived yet (still on the other side of the country with my sister but arriving on 14 January); I too have found this site and Forum an awesome resource. Being a newbie and on a similar path to you, I just wan...

Re: EPI Alert Tag/Collar

Thank you! I am going to hold-off on the collar for a while I think, Ziggy being a growing puppy; however, I do like Pam's suggestion on the tag which I can move to multiple collars, 'DO NOT FEED' and the 'Has EPI' and 'Call a Vet'. We only have one local vet surgery but the Has EPI would be helpful...

EPI Alert Tag/Collar

I am a 'newbie' to EPI and my EPI puppy does not arrive until mid-January; however, events over the weekend got me to thinking about an EPI Tag/Collar. We had a 'visitor', a beautiful golden retriever showed up at our property, very hot, tired and thirsty; obviously, we took him in and gave him a dr...

Re: Introduction

While I do not have a date for Ziggy's arrival yet, I do have some good news! My sister (Kathy) was able to get her hands on the previously mentioned puppy-kibble I was able to source locally and he appears to be tolerating it, which is awesome as it gives me a nice baseline to work with. Boiled egg...
