Re: calling all pedigree GSDs with EPI.....

Is this just for dogs residing in the US? We live in Canada and would be happy to take part otherwise.

Re: Is EPI inherited?

We got him from a breeder in the USA. I wouldn’t want to blame anyone if there’s no real evidence that EPI is hereditary. He is such a great dog in all other respects. If it is hereditary, that’s another matter. I just wondered what others thought about it.

Re: Is EPI inherited?

I have a question, then. My dog has been diagnosed with EPI, just over a month ago. I notified the breeder as she is using his full sister for breeding, different litter but same parents. I’ve heard nothing more from the breeder but she was selling puppies from his sister, a couple of weeks back. Is...

Re: New diagnosis & Raw food

I just wanted to positively endorse Olesia’s advise re CREON. I was having no success feeding my newly diagnosed GSD powdered enzymes at all, however well disguised. Fresh pig’s pancreas worked but with variable results. On Olesia’s advice we changed to CREON and it has been a game changer. Finn, wh...

Re: Canadian bovine enzyme powder ‘Thrive’

The Tylosin from my vet was NOT compounded. It was taken from a larger container they had in their dispensary at the practice. I can send you the invoice if that helps, it should be C$24, not C$200 Also, I don’t know what blood test you are having, but I paid C$180 for the TLI test for EPI. I sincer...

Re: Canadian bovine enzyme powder ‘Thrive’

That’s an outrageous cost for Tylosin. The Veterinarian here in BC, Canada charged $23.94 for 45 day supply. They MUST have made a mistake or………..

Re: Canadian bovine enzyme powder ‘Thrive’

How it worked for me in Canada is as follows; My newly diagnosed EPI dog absolutely refused to eat anything with powdered enzymes added, disguised or otherwise. Fresh pork enzymes worked with variable results so Olesia recommended Creon. I phoned my vet and asked her to write a prescription for Creo...

Re: where to buy b12

Also in Canada, I couldn’t buy from Wonderlabs online as there is apparently a glitch with a Canadian address but I phoned their helpline and they took my credit card details over the phone and dispatched my order. It has taken 3 weeks for my order to arrive so Finn is having weekly B12 injections f...

Re: Canadian bovine enzyme powder ‘Thrive’

I just wanted to add to Olesia’s post where she recommended Creon, as I too am in Canada. As a recent member of the EPI ‘Club’, she has been helping and advising me as I was having unreliable initial results with other enzymes, fresh and powdered. Plus the powdered enzymes from the States have prett...
