Re: Eddie's new regimen With Links
You probably are not overdosing. I think you'd see signs. I could always tell when mine got too much. He was quite sensitive. Too little was a problem. Too much was another issue. Creon in a prescription here too. One that's not available to vets. They can't order other or even look at it through th...

Re: Eddie's new regimen With Links
Well that's interesting that the capsuling works for you! I'm glad it did, but must say, I am surprised. It was an epic failure here when trying to capsule the powdered enzymes. I had the largest size capsules. It took 2 of those almost full to equal the dose we gave when mixing/incubating. First I ...

Re: When to test...please help advise
Well, it's not great news. cTLI was high. With pancreatitis already ruled out, it's looking like severe IBD. Concerns with testing at this age is that the pockets of inflammation are microscopic and won't show if we do biopsies now. So if we do further testing now, there's high possibility of false ...

Re: When to test...please help advise
Concerned about Tylosin dosing. Rylee was started at 200mg (which I give twice a day). They gave me a new prescription yesterday, but only 21 pills. Apparently it's all they had; it's on back order. So she said use it for now; and next week we'll have to figure out what we do next. If I increase the...

Re: NINA
So sorry this happened. You can guess until the cows come home; but you'll never figure out the culprit! There's waaay too many variables. Flea /heartworm products are possible. It does affect some dogs. Also the stress of the long trip, meeting new people and dogs could also cause it. Can't imagine...

Re: When to test...please help advise
Thanks Olesia Yes cTLI, folate and B12 were run. I suspect folate might be close to normal now since she's been on Tylosin. I wonder where it would have been last week though. Since there was evidence of SID (without diarrhea though) she has been on Tylosin. Chance's folate was always low. Despite k...

Re: When to test...please help advise
Rylee went in for her testing this morning. So now we wait! In the meantime, I have sent pictures of the poops, and how they've progressed since enzymes. She took a look and was quite surprised at how much less food is being lost. I asked if severe food allergy could have responded that well. She sa...

Re: NINA
BTW, I forgot to say thank you to both Pam and Olesia for the kind words and encouragement. It's true that sometimes what we first see as bad luck actually turns out to be good luck. As was definitely the case with Izzy! It is very encouraging to know that getting her stable would likely be easier, ...

Re: 5 Month Old Puppy with low TLI - questions!
I am happy to hear that Bonnie is doing so well without enzymes or Tylosin! I'm assuming that they are not considering "exploring" more now during the spay procedure. I'd be hesitant to do that, as it would mean a longer and more difficult recovery. And not sure that they could see anythin...

Re: NINA
Yeah; I could not return Rylee because of EPI. I just hope it's nothing worse! Catching it early would be very lucky! The vet knows little about it; and freely admitted that she knows less than I do. But I do have to give her credit for even thinking it when she saw all the food pooped out. Poop thi...
