Re: Lucy - Another Newbie
I think the others here have given you excellent advice. I used to have 2 dogs. One with Addison's disease, one EPI. Both on different foods (not by choice...way back when, they were fed the same. They both ate quickly, then played musical bowls 🤣. When foods changed, I too fed opposite sides of the...

Re: UTI! Ughhhhhh
If the mushy poop has started as result of antibiotics, then sometimes s. Boulardii is beneficial. It's not killed by antibiotics like other probiotics, and usually does help firm poops. It's often recommended to help reduce side effects of antibiotics. Probiotics can help, but best given at least 2...

Re: Cost of porcine enzymes
While I do believe there has been a shortage of pancreas to enzyme manufacture has been an issue; I do also wonder if some companies are using the pandemic as an excuse. Not so much Diane or others trying to get the pancreas; but someone in the line somewhere. I feed raw meat. During the pandemic, I...

Re: Another Newby with Questions
I think my dog wins the most expensive dog ever award 😁😵💫 it's a killer. Watch the B12 levels. Wonderlabs works for many dogs. But not all. It did nothing for my dog. I started with injections, then switched. He became very ill, very weak. B12 levels plummeted. Had to go back to injections. Timing ...

Nylander bones can be bad for strong chewers! A friend of mine very nearly lost her black lab to one a couple of years ago. He chewed off the end of a large one and wound up with a severe blockage. It was caught early, and surgery was done. But it was rough. Vet had told her Nyla bones do bring them...

That's great that Bali has improved! What a relief for you - and Bali!
It's very possible that enzymes helped get things going again when they were bad. I really hope he stays happy and healthy!

Re: Unlikely Problem
That unlikely problem is a good problem to have! (Only an EPI parent can save that)!! You started Montgomery on folate?? What kind do you use? I started giving "Real Folate" almost 3 weeks ago, after learning his folate was very low. I do think it's been making a difference. He's gained we...

Re: When Nothng Has Changed....
Chance's "onion" odor seems to be gone. I noticed last week that he doesn't smell anymore. The only change was adding the Folate supplement. No food changes. I'm guessing the low folate must have affected digestion enough that it triggered that strange gas. His energy has improved as well....

Re: New to Forum
Such a pretty girl! It really hurts seeing them ailing and wasting away. I gather Ruby as not been tested for EPI as yet? Is this what stool testing you are looking into? The "traditional testing" for EPI is the GI blood panel. It's more accurate, but more importantly provides a lot more i...
