Re: Ruger - New Case Trying to Stabilize

Thank you Olesia. We do appreciate all you have done!!!! We are planning to call another vet tomorrow morning to see if we can get an appointment for a whole new look on things - from the beginning. A new set of eyes never hurts and may lead to answering some questions. Ruger has not had any of the ...

Re: Ruger - New Case Trying to Stabilize

Good Morning, I was able to talk to our vet more yesterday and pick up the blood test results. The vet is supposed to make some calls today to get some additional information on food choices for Ruger in the event the lamb and brown rice does not work. She also prescribed a short term dose of Flagyl...

Re: Ruger - New Case Trying to Stabilize

Hi Jean, Thank you for your suggestions. We have not done a stool analysis. We’ve done several regular fecal tests and have dewormed twice. Once when we first brought Ruger home and once recently just in case he may have whipworms. I can certainly ask for the stool analysis, but the vet says she doe...

Re: Ruger - New Case Trying to Stabilize

Thank you so much Olesia. After the conversations I have had with the vet, I thought I would give the food change a chance first before mentioning the Slippery Elm. I’m definitely willing to give Slippery Elm a try, but trying to manage myself and make 1 change at the time. The vet just called a cou...

Re: Ruger - New Case Trying to Stabilize

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you all are having a good week. Ruger had his blood test and ultrasound yesterday. Lol, he’s rocking his new haircut where they shaved his sides. ;) At this point I can let you know what I have been told, but I have no written results yet. Our vet called me and said the...

Re: Ruger - New Case Trying to Stabilize

Thank you all so very much. Your support is something that no words can explain. Thank you is so small to say, but please know I really, really thank you. I called our vet this morning and we are going to do the blood panel and an ultrasound tomorrow. I’ll post results as soon as I receive them. Dum...

Re: Ruger - New Case Trying to Stabilize

Thank you so much for your help. Words can not express how much I appreciate your time and knowledge and kind words. I’ll definitely call tomorrow and give an update on the poops and ask for the blood panel. I have started the journal and write in it each meal and poop. I can put the carrot pieces i...

Re: Ruger - New Case Trying to Stabilize

Hi Olesia and Pam, Thank you so much for your suggestions and information. I really appreciate all you are doing. To give a quick update, he only pooped twice yesterday, but first thing this morning he had a large poop spread out over 4 places. It started with shape and still on the soft side, but I...

Re: Ruger - New Case Trying to Stabilize

Pam, I guess in all fairness, our vet did not come right out and say point blank that Ruger has EPI. I may have misunderstood. I knew we did the test and she said his numbers were on the low side of normal and then gave us the enzymes. So my thought was that we were dealing with EPI. Now, I don’t kn...
