Re: 3 weeks in, will tylosin be the answer?
thanks for the blood values..... they look like things are moving in the right direction. Glad to see the HCT increasing. Your vet is correct not to be too concerned (at this time) with the liver enzymes..... but just a FYI.... with EPI, elevated ALT enzymes is usually nothing more than inflammation...

Re: New Page on "possible" Cost Savings with enzymes
I was chatting with one of the researchers yesterday and he was telling me that there is an old study out there that actually explains when (time-wise) food is actually digested in the dog's small intestine, etc. AND... with regards to EPI dogs how the size of the enzymes impacts the efficacy of the...

Re: When to test...please help advise
thanks Patsy, i appreciate your input.... i personally view immunosuppressive drugs thru the lens of a love-hate relationship. I personally have experienced where if it wasn't for short term prednisone, my Izzy would have died and not lived another 8 wonderful years.... but on the flip side, long te...

Re: New Page on "possible" Cost Savings with enzymes
Hi MagChick, I would try giving some SLippery Elm first to see if that helps before jumping to the TYlan.... but if you have to do Tylan, then that is what needs to be done. Also at 112,000 USP units of Lipase..... i think that maybe when inserted into enteric coated capsules that two filled might h...

Re: When to test...please help advise
Hi Andrea, I am sure jill will respond mor thoroughly, but since i am at the computer right now :) .... i figured i'd share that Jill's dog Mickey did not have EPI but rather pancreatitis. ALSO..... although not exactly related, but kind of related.... my husband had a severe acute pancreatic attack...

Re: New Page on "possible" Cost Savings with enzymes
thanks for posting the how things are going with the 8x in the enteric coated capsules.... Yes, way too much enzymes can sometimes trigger loose stools in some EPI dogs....... but i am not sure if you are giving way too much. unless the Lipase potency for the batch of enzymes you are using is very h...
