Re: New to EPI

Hi there again! Glad you've had time to read through the material. It seems overwhelming in the beginning but quickly becomes a new routine. The enzymes need to incubate with the food not separately. The smell you are referring to is likely the putrified food remaining in the gut and should go away ...

Re: PancrePlus donation for Seattle area

I am so sorry for your loss. If you'd like to, when you're ready, you can write a memorial and send it to be posted on our memorial page - you can email it to olesia.kennedy@gmail.com It's extremely kind of you to think of others while you are grieving. If you'd like to donate and no one responds on...

Re: Maybe not EPI?

Hi there. It looks like the folate and B12 are with in normal range so I don't think you are looking at food sensitivities. If the Folate were higher than reference range it would be an indication of SID if there were other symptoms displaying as well. I'm not sure why Antech has different reference...

Re: Poop

Hi Pam. Yes you want to only make one change at a time. So, if you're going to try slippery elm then stay on the regular dose of tylan - wait 3 days and then try to reduce the Tylan. OR if you have good poop on the full dose of Tylan then try to reduce and if you notice it going south THEN try addin...

Re: new to EPI

Hi Carrie. No reason not to let your dog be a dog :) . We have police dogs with EPI, sporting competitively dogs with EPI, etc. etc. Until her body is fully healed from the inside, however, she might not have quite as much energy as before but once she's stable she should be back to her full energy....

Re: Maybe not EPI?

Hi Nate. Glad you had the test done. Just want to make sure your pup was fasted for at least 8 hours before they drew the blood? Also, please check with your vet and ask them to check with the lab but we typically recommend not drawing the blood on Thursday or Friday so it's not sitting over the wee...

Re: Sibo

Hi Tiffany, Yes it sounds like Yogi has SID (small intestinal dysbiosis - formerly called SIBO). Recent research has revealed that ALL EPI dogs have SID it's just a matter of keeping it under control with the right balance of enzymes, B12, food and possibly slippery elm or Tylan. The low B12 is like...

Re: Our Shepherd has been diagnosed with EPI this year and we're coming into some complications.

Hi and welcome to our EPI family. Sorry I'm late in responding. Can you tell us what the B12 and Folate levels where when your dog was tested/diagnosed with EPI? If you haven't been supplementing with B12 since diagnosis it's likely SID (small intestinal dysbiosis - formerly called SIBO). Then the q...
