Re: Newly Diagnoised

Glad to hear Piper is doing so well. My boy can't tolerate any treats - I tried making my own dehydrated kibble treats with enzymes but even that didn't go over too well. Luckily he loves ice cubes so that is all he gets as a treat. Just keep an eye on the poops to make sure whatever new treat you t...

Re: Phoebe, Chronic Pancreatitis and Voracious/Starving

Hi Debra - this is way out of my area of expertise but based on reading everything I would tend to stick with the eggs and cottage cheese like Jean and Jill suggested. I do know this - Phoebe is VERY lucky to have such a dedicated loving mom!!

Re: Cooper - New to EPI

Hi and welcome to you and Cooper. You've already been given great advice so I won't muddy the waters but want to jump on the band wagon of letting us know the exact test results. Unfortunately what vet's consider "normal" for B12 for an EPI dog is not the case. Also, there is a gray area in the TLI ...

Re: smell

Hi Mel. The researchers believe the smell is from the rotting food in the gut basically and should go away over time with the right balance of enzymes, B12 and food. Is the food you're feeding within our guidlines of 4% fiber or less and limits peas and legumes?

Re: Sudden increase in grass eating

My non-EPI dog constantly eats grass - I guess it's got something her body needs but she has perfect poop. Every now and then I'll catch my EPI boy eating grass for no apparent reason.

Re: B12

Not a dumb question - yes that's the right product but the dosing is not correct - we use the dosing that TAMU recommends for shots. I'm not sure if the dosing is the same for cats as it is for dogs. Olesia will be better to answer that.

Re: How to feed Heartguard/Bravecto?

Olesia - I use Spot On by Dr. Mercola https://www.chewy.com/dr-mercola-flea-t ... /dp/162935

I used to use Frontline but it literally burned Doc's skin two years ago so I stopped using it on both dogs.

Re: Tylan update

You could go ahead and try going to the maintenance dose - if you notice the poops going south then go back to the 1/4tsp and give it for the full 45 days then try to go to the maintenance dose.
