Re: Looking for feedback on enzyme product not listed on this site

Bev, I just wanted to make sure that I found the right product when I looked it up, and that this is the one you have. Would you confirm this for me, please, because they have some other products that are not appropriate for our EPI dogs, as they have mainly plant based enzymes. https://naturesfarma...

Re: Looking for feedback on enzyme product not listed on this site

Hi Bev, I don't have any experience with the Dogzymes, but I just looked it up on the Nature's Farmacy website, and it appears to be roughly equivalent to Diane's pancreatin 6X powder in terms of the lipase, protease, and amylase amounts, which are the important enzymes needed. It seems there are tw...

And yes, the ravenous hunger should subside once she is absorbing her food better and a good weight. 🙂

Re: New, 4 year old Sheltie with EPI

The only way to know for sure how it will work would be to try it. But if the food is in a cooler with an ice pack, it should be fine until lunchtime. And remember that “snack” needs to have enzymes, too, or it won’t be digested and will cause problems. Keep us posted!

Re: 9/11

Thank you for remembering, Jean. It’s hard to believe it was 20 years ago. I distinctly remember where I was and the feelings I had at the time. A family I worked with had a daughter in NYC, so I was worried for and with them. There was so much chaos. You really saw the good in people in the followi...

Re: New, 4 year old Sheltie with EPI

First, Woo Hoo for solid brown poop!! I would think the food would be fine in a cooler with ice packs unless it’s really hot out. A trial run is always a good test…good idea! While the cold does make the enzymes less active, some dogs are fine eating a meal right out of the fridge. It also might war...

Re: B12 Pills

It's good to hear that his appetite is better! In theory, any B12 supplement should work, however, there is something called intrinsic factor which is necessary to be able to absorb the B12. Some of our EPI dogs have sufficient intrinsic factor to absorb any B12, but many of our EPI dogs do not, so ...

Re: New, 4 year old Sheltie with EPI

Sorry...I just got on here after work and saw your questions. You may have already fed her dinner tonight. Since the food you are feeding her most likely is not working for her because of the high fiber, I would just switch completely without slowly adding in the new kibble. It seems that most EPI d...

Hi Suzanne! This is Shirl....I've been chatting with you on the FB page. I'm so glad you joined the forum. And the first person you heard from, Olesia, is our founder, who knows more about EPI than any other person I am aware of! I just wanted to say hello, welcome to the forum, and give you a link ...

Re: Serious Doggie Body Odor—HELP!!!!

Oh, yes....that stench is awful! Back in 2013, we actually did an odor study survey. The results are on this page of our website: https://epi4dogs.com/epi-odor-study/ If you look through it, you'll see that no one thing seemed to help all dogs, but there is a list of things that people changed that ...
