Hi Everyone, Thought I would provide a quick update at our 5.5 months since diagnosis. Through feeding 4 times per day (up to 140 grams per feed) we have been stable at a weight of 8.9kg (up 1.2 kg since diagnosis) for the past couple of weeks and can now start looking at dropping the grams per feed...

Quick update - weight gain static . b12 levels have gone from 68 to 150 so will continue on weekly injections for now. Continues on the Tylan for another 45 days.
Continue to make his food which at 3 kg per week is rather labour intensive.

Thanks for everyone’s help..

Re: Diagnosis 72 hours ago - jack Russell X

Tylan is 1/8 tsp twice per day with a plan to go to the 45 day and reasses ? Continue longer term. I was thinking to try sweet potato- will do a couple of ice cube trays worth and do a test run to see if it affects output in anyway. Once we have this under control and stable we need to look at havin...

Re: Diagnosis 72 hours ago - jack Russell X

Quick update- Weight up 400 grams in 16 days!!! Only 1 kg to go...I imagine that is a result of increasing the Creon dosage per meal (to the equivalent of one 10,000 capsule), B12 injections and the Tylon. Poo: still yellow/brown Food: 4 homemade meals per day - chicken, pumpkin and broccoli. 6 smal...

Re: Diagnosis 72 hours ago - jack Russell X

Thanks everyone. This weeks update - weight static Tolerating the Tylan (and the small amount of cream cheese required to hide the taste) Creon at 1 3/4 scoops per meal and working toward 2 scoops and then transition across to the capsules ($72 for 3 weeks verses $31). Home made food continues and s...

Re: Update Diagnosis 72 hours ago - jack Russell X

Thanks for everyone's advice to date: We finally have the B12 results = 68ng/L (pathology range of healthy dogs 252-908)and I am aware from this website that we should be aiming for 600+. Weekly injections for 4-6 weeks. Tonight we are about to commence Tylan powder twice per day. Weight - up 100 gr...

Sorry - 1 1/4 scoops (one that comes with the Creon for measuring). I am in Australia not the US so not using the powdered enzymes.

Re: Diagnosis 72 hours ago - jack Russell X

Quick update: Weight up 100 grams this week Poo was looking great so did a trial run of introducing appropriate dry food (15 grams in both of the morning feeds) - by midday yellow very loose poo so that’s obviously a failed challenge. Back to chicken, pumpkin and broccoli (home made) and 1/4 tsp coc...
